Disney Parks Annual Passholders have a decision to make… 🤔

With Disney Parks closed in the US due to the coronavirus, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort have announced some new options for Annual Passholders. Now, Passholders can choose to either receive an extension of their Annual Passes or begin the process of receiving a partial refund instead.

Here are the current options for Disney Parks’ annual passholders:

For Walt Disney World Annual Passholders:

Annual Passholders who have paid in full:

  • Passholders who have paid in full will get their expiration date extended for the number of days the parks are closed. The new expiration date will be reflected on the Annual Passholder’s account prior to the reopening of the parks.
  • Passholders may choose to receive a partial refund for the park closure period instead of the extension. To request this option, contact VIPASSHOLDER Support at (407) 939-7277.

Annual Passholders on the monthly payment plan:

  • On April 5, 2020, Walt Disney World stopped monthly payments and will continue to waive them while the parks are closed. Payments made between March 14 through April 4, 2020 will also be retroactively refunded. Payments will resume on the Passholder’s regularly scheduled payment dates once the parks reopen. Pass expiration dates will not be extended and Passes will expire on their originally scheduled expiration dates.
  • Guests using the monthly payment program may choose to have their monthly payments postponed through the park closure period, and then resumed on the Passholder’s regularly scheduled payment date once the parks reopen. Delayed payments will be collected in the months following the end of the Passholder’s currently scheduled payment term and the pass will be extended the number of days the parks are closed. To request this option, contact VIPASSHOLDER Support at (407) 939-7277.

Thank you for posting. My two daughters have Disneyland annual passes and have been waiting to see how they would handle this as their monthly payments have been debited from their accounts. We will watch for refunds. 🙂

You are welcome, Marie! Glad this is helpful!

They stopped debiting flex pay over a month ago. if they were still getting charged, they should call.

Hi Amy! I was charged just a few weeks ago. I will need to watch to make sure we get a credit for it. 🙂

Thanks for the info. I’m wondering how this affects the Southern California resident promo they did at the beginning of the year where you got three visits to use through May for a discounted rate. We only got to go twice. I assume Disney will extend that time frame also.

That’s nice they’re doing this! I’m surprised they’re not just extending it another month (or two).

I got the email from them yesterday about my options. Husband and I have decided to take the partial refund as we are assuming it’ll be crazy busy once it does open back up. I’m so sad. I just don’t even want to make the call. I’m doing everything in my power to avoid “breaking up” lol

Has anyone heard anything about Legoland annual passes?
I bought 2 Awesomer annual passes to celebrate the start of summer break in May 2019, so they’d be expiring May of this year. Before this all started we were hoping to go at least 1 more time before they expired. Our passes also included entry to an aquarium and wax museum, which we also didn’t get a chance to try out. I haven’t heard anything about Legoland on social media or blogs and I haven’t received any emails since February. Seems like before social distancing they were frequently sending me messages about promotions and special events.

I see this for LEGOLAND: For our existing Annual Passholders, we will be extending the validity of your pass or, in the case of our Annual Passholders using monthly pay, your pass payments will be on hold as of April 1 until we are able to welcome you and your families back to experience our parks. For Guests who have a dated ticket that is valid during our closure dates, we will be extending the validity window of your ticket through the end of the year so that you have the flexibility to visit us later in the year.

I am calling tomorrow to figure out when they will start charging again. I understand that you will need a reservation to go, but we will not be going anymore as my son is high risk. It’s bad enough that I paid March 10th for the month and they closed 3 days later, no partial refund was given, but now even if we wanted to go there is no guarantee we would get a reservation. So basically the best I can hope for is only having to pay 1 more month (August) before our passes expire the same day as the final payment charge.
