They are great in garbage cans. I do that also. Just make sure to wipe that specific area you plan to stick it on well with rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer. Ive found that with the top dropping so frequently unless you clean it well it will drop right into the barrel quicker than you would like.
I’ll have to try that. I always wondered why it wouldn’t stick for me.
