Crazy Rich Asians follows Rachel Chu who has agreed to spend the summer in Singapore with her boyfriend (whom she hopes to marry) Nicholas Young- little does she know that he is actually the country’s richest and most eligible bachelor! A lighthearted romance filled with old money, new money, nosy relatives, and scheming social climbers- will their love sustain or will Young’s disapproving mother have it her way?

If you have time on your hands and want some very amusing entertainment this is for you. The author ties several Asian families together living in Europe, North American, and Asia. Through the storyline the reader learns a lot about the history of Asian customs, finances, and humor. The Asian women especially take on down the road of outrageous antics and interfamily relations.
Love this book. Devoured it in a matter of a day. Makes me want to visit Singapore with all the food descriptions. Great read- on how the other half lives that is atrocious but not impossible with lots of humor. Excited to see the movie if it will live up to the book or not (considering most movies bomb because it doesn’t stay true to the story of the book.)
I read this before watching the movie and really enjoyed it!
Highly recommend! I finished this trilogy last year after watching the first film, and I was actually really sad because I’m not sure I’ll ever find another series that could be so enjoyable and catches my attention like this did!
Thank you so much for your review!
Thanks!
