Sam’s Club Is Once Again Limiting Toilet Paper & Paper Towel Purchases
Sam’s Club has added new limits both in-store and online! 💩
With a potential paper good shortage looming, it appears Sam’s Club is taking a cautionary approach to avoid another round of toilet paper panic buying like we saw in 2020 by limiting the purchase of toilet paper & paper towels to one per member.
On the upside, hopefully getting ahead of the problem can prevent the shortages predicted by experts who foresee possible production issues. The issues could stem from a rise in the price of wood pulp as well as a lack of available shipping containers and space on cargo ships.
The fear factor…
While the fear of future lockdowns in the wake of the Delta variant has been a factor in driving up paper goods lately, major companies including Proctor & Gamble and Kimberly Clark have both been making an effort to ensure consumers that they are working extra hard to meet the increased demands to produce and ship as much product to retailers as possible.
Keep in mind that retailers and suppliers rely heavily on buying trends to determine how to effectively meet consumer needs, so the worst thing we can do is all rush out and start buying up all things paper. If 2020 – 2021 has taught us anything with the constant ups and downs, the best thing we can do is just roll with it.
Before you become a Bounty hunter…
It appears that toilet paper and paper towels are just the next commodities to fall victim to disruptions in the supply chain due to Covid 19. A phenomenon that is becoming far too familiar this year having impacted everything from ketchup packets to microchips.
Don’t be surprised if other retailers start adopting this practice as well. While the limits can be a bit annoying, it’s far better to have these products available in moderation than not at all!
Ive already started stocking up on masks, sanitizer, disinfectant and paper products. I live in GA and went out over the weekend to 9 stores, called more looking for those at home COVID tests, and I finally found a FEW but they were sold out everywhere, every pharmacy even places that said it was available on the apps. CVS said they sold 400 in 1.5 days with a limit. So, I can see with schools starting and closing and a new COVID wave coming prices are gonna start going up and things are gonna be harder to find just like last year. TRUST me, you dont want to be paying $40 a box for masks in a few months or find empty paper goods shelves. STOCK UP NOW.
Gee…I wonder why they have to impose limits
Costcos in the Houston area are limiting paper towels and toilet paper, too.
It’s partly because the truckers are protesting, a lot of them have turned their trucks off and refuse to work right now also 44 shipping container barges are stick off the coast of Cali for some reason.
Because Biden is paying the dock workers to stay home. People need to back to work. And we need to stop the hand outs
Costco here in El Paso is as of this week again too
Is sams brand toilet paper good? We’re a charmin family usually. Wondering how it compares.
Out family likes it but my mom likes Angel Soft, so to each their own, LOL.
I had a ton of clogs. Switched to Scott’s (not the 1000) and have had 1. But if you don’t have kids, it’s fine. I loathe angel soft lol.
It’s great! That’s all I buy! I like the ultra strong
We used to be Charmin fans, but Members Mark has become our favorite tp brand. We’ve been using it for a few years now.
We think it’s the BEST
I honestly think the members mark brand is closest you’ll find to charmin
Yes, the purple members mark is awesome. I’m a charmin person too
More control of the elites for us peons. If people stock up when times are good, none will run out.
Society is so breaking down. People will have to make hard choices. Control by overlords or not.
They have already banned American’s from flying to Europe again due to the rising COVID. It is getting bad again.
The EU has RECOMMENDED restrictions on UNVACCINATED Americans flying to Europe. There have been no bans.
