Ground Beef Recall Due to Possible Plastic Contamination | 9 States Affected
We’re sharing the latest recall news!
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Friday, January 24th that a Chicago company is recalling about 2,020 pounds of raw ground beef. The problem was discovered after Pre Brands LLC. received two consumer complaints reporting findings of clear, thin pliable plastic in raw ground beef.
The recalled beef was produced January 6 and shipped to retail locations in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. It includes one-pound vacuum-packed packages containing lot code “0060,” case code “11402” and a use or freeze by date of “01/31/2020” on the product label.
No illnesses have been reported at this time, but if you live in any of the states listed above, you should check your freezer for the affected beef. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
(Thanks, Jill!)
Is this those hamburger roll meats? Anyone know?
When I look at the PDF in the link it doesn’t look like it.
If you click the link and go to the news release, they do have a link with pictures. They are not rolls of meat.
Tonight I had hamburger from aldi in michigan. I bit into a hard piece of black plastic. Then I saw this recall 😮
A few weeks ago I almost broke a tooth on a piece of plastic in my buddig beef. I wrote the company and all the wanted to do was refund me my .75. 🤬
🤬🤯😡
Lol! That happened to me with Tropicana Orange Juice. There were pieces of hard plastics in it. Checked the lid if it’s broken since they have the same color and material but it wasn’t . Emailed Tropicana and they gave me coupons of feee Tropicana. What makes them think that I will buy it again after that incident that almost choke me? 🤦♀️
*free coupons
There’s too many plant based options now days to keep eating contaminated beef.
LOL! Plastic could get into any packaged product. Real meat or fake meat could all have a manufacturing error.
Is it just me or are the links not working?
Oh darn! The links still work for me as I click through. Maybe try a different browser OR switch over to desktop view if using a mobile device. Hoping this helps!
I ordered meals from Hello Fresh and it was meat like this that had tiny pieces of plastic in it. 🤮
The link doesn’t work for me either.
Hmm, I still find the links to load up for me on my laptop. Are you using a mobile device? If so, maybe try switching to desktop view. Hoping that might help!
What store/s theyre recalling this from? It doesnt say in the posting
