Free N95 Masks at Kroger

Stay healthy with FREE N95 face masks from the US Department of Health and Human Services!

On January 19th, 2022, The White House announced that the US Government will offer free N95 masks to all Americans. This news comes after the CDC updated its guidance on face coverings. The agency now states that properly fitted N95 and KN95 masks offer the most protection against COVID-19 (compared to cloth face coverings).

About 400 million of these highly protective masks will be given away as part of this initiative. The masks will come from the government’s Strategic National Stockpile, which current has more than 750 million of them.

All of the free N95 masks are sized for adults. At this time, there is no distribution of child-sized masks being planned. According to the White House, there are three masks available for every American adult.

Where to get your FREE N95 masks

The free N95 respirators are available for distribution at pharmacies and community health centers nationwide. They can also be found at grocery stores and the other locations that partnered with the federal government’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

Kroger is one of many grocery stores that are giving away free N95 masks. Although all Kroger locations are supposed to have free face masks available, it does seem that stock may vary by store. You may find them at your local Kroger either by request or in large bins throughout the store.

This will be the federal government’s largest distribution of free N95 masks to the public since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The federal government also launched a website where Americans can order four rapid COVID-19 tests to be shipped to their homes for free.

According to 3M, a mask manufacturer, N95 respirators can be reused until they are dirty, damaged, or difficult to breathe through.
