So over the dollar tree. Since the price increase I haven’t gone once. Prices are better now at Walmart for the same items πŸ˜”. Sad because this was my to go place for deals

Same here! Just not for us anymore. I’ve noticed many places now highlight their $1 sections. We have a large family and while it may seem like a small increase to some we can’t afford it in our budget. So we have gone elsewhere.

I am with you and after adding tax for us is more than just 25 cents. It comes out to be 29 cents extra after the tax. Now both target and Walmart have way better deals than the dollar tree.

Did the greeting cards increase!? Thanks

      • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

They are still $1, but some Dollar Trees now cost $1.25. This year the rest will go up to $1.25.

I agree! I see the same items at Walmart for .97 so I don’t shop at dollar tree as much

Gotta watch Walmart for increasing prices too. The pudding cups are now 1.22 at Walmart that DT hasnt even been carrying.

I visited Dollar Tree for the first time since the increase and was pleasantly surprised at the expanded selection and how well stocked it was. I’m frugal, but if they can bring in more ‘specialty’ items in this climate, I’ll support it!

They still have the 2/$1 greeting cards. Some things are still great bargains, like the DVD/ Blu-rays. But, other things are now a complete rip-off, because they are $1 or less, at many other places.
