In this game, you’re the captain of a ship and your job is to fly the skies of Celus – a gaseous planet where buoyant gas keeps everything afloat in the skies – as you hunt Cresters and bring gas back to the city. There are many obstacles ahead but if you manage to conquer them in the best strategical manner then you can lead your ship to victory! This game is suggested for ages 14 and up with up to five players, and each round lasts 30-90 minutes.

Still deciding? These 5-star reviews might help…

My family and I are long-time gamers, and we enjoyed this meatier fare from PlayMonster. The theme here is very engaging, with nice plastic minis of ships that take to the sky to battle Crestors and return to port bearing the teeth of the beasts! Windward has a lot of flexibility and replayability including a two-sided board as well as optional advanced, cooperative, and solo modes.

This game has a steeper learning curve than many family games but the immersive theme and the strategic decision making (how long to stay At Port gathering resources before heading to the Sky) are rewarding and fun. We recommend this to families looking for a deeper strategic game!

I am really enjoying everything about this game so far. The playstyle is very unique, with multiple layers of action on the single board, interesting piece movement rules, and a challenging single-player game mode (which is what I have mostly played). In terms of quality, the board and game pieces are what you’d expect for any top-of-the-line board game. The only downside is that the rulebook could use some better examples and images. While it does give a decent overview of the rules, using a youtube video is best to help make some of the nuances clear.
