Celebrate the red, white, and blue with these festive DIY Mason jar votives. ❤️ 🤍 💙
These America flag Mason jar votives will brighten up your home or patio! Better yet, Dollar Tree has the majority of the craft supplies you’ll need for a frugal, simple craft anyone can do! What a fun little project to celebrate the 4th of July.
We love nothing more than a cost-efficient yet adorable piece of patriotic decor. You do not have to overspend to get the perfect holiday decorations, and there’s so much you can do when it comes to a 4th of July decor DIY. You can get the whole family involved, too!
Check the Dollar Tree for supplies first.
I already had Mason jars on hand, but Dollar Tree has jars if needed. The battery-operated candles and mini American flags can be found at Dollar Tree, too. Keep in mind that you can also use bigger flags and jars to make these on a larger scale if desired.
Dollar Tree doesn’t seem to carry the same selection of colors of sand as they did when I first made this DIY, so you can check Michaels for colored sand instead.
Hip tips for this 4th of July decor DIY:
- If you can’t find colored sand at Dollar Tree and want more variety than Michael’s, be sure to check on Amazon or Joann.
- Feel free to add or take away anything to make each design unique to your own taste.
- Not only is this a great decor item, but it also makes the perfect party favor or gift.

Pour a couple of inches of sand into the jar. If you want to use white rice from the pantry or sand from outside, that’s another option, too.

Place a battery-operated votive inside.
4
Close it up, and display it on a tabletop inside or use outdoors on your patio!
Now you have frugal yet adorable decorations for the 4th of July!
I love these patriotic votive jars so much! Aren’t they fun? This is something that takes just a few minutes each to put together and there’s no paint or gluing involved! I think a few of these would make a nice hostess gift this summer, too.

I noticed the center of the lids aren’t used. Is there a reason to not use them?
Oh great question! No reason! I just wanted to see the flag more and the “candle”. You can add the lid 👍
