Amazon Prime Video will become the official home of Thursday Night Football when the 2022 season kicks off this September.

While Thursday Night Football has been available to stream on Amazon before, this will be the first time in league history that a streaming service will be the only place to watch a season-long series of games.

2022 Thursday Night Football schedule

The first regular season game to air on Amazon Prime will take place on Thursday, September 15, when the Los Angeles Chargers play the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2 of the NFL season.

Coverage kicks off each week at 7PM ET/4PM PT with a live edition of TNF Tonight, followed by kickoff at 8PM ET/5PM PT. After the game, the TNF Postgame Show will air, followed by the TNF NightCap for an in-depth analysis of all the action.

Local broadcast stations for the teams playing will also air the Thursday Night Football games from week to week, but anyone wanting to watch all 15 of the TNF games will need to sign up for a Prime Video membership ($8.99/month). If you’re already an Amazon Prime member, Prime Video is included in the cost of your membership (currently $139/year or $14.99/month).

Prime Video members will be able to watch, record, or go back and start the Thursday Night Football broadcasts from the beginning. Viewers who choose to record the game will automatically get access to every game of the season.

During the games, Amazon’s X-Ray technology will give users the ability to see real-time statistics on screen. Players will wear uniforms enhanced with Amazon Web Services chips for instant updates. Viewers watching on a Fire TV will also be able to speak commands such as “show me stats” or “play the last touchdown” into their remote control.

The legendary Al Michaels, formerly of NBC’s “Sunday Night Football,” will be calling the games, along with longtime college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit.

Amazon will also offer alternative broadcasts including TNF en Español and the lighthearted commentary of TNF with Dude Perfect.

It’s prime video separate from the prime membership subscription?

Hey Sarah! Prime Video is an on-demand streaming service that’s included with an Amazon Prime membership. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can also sign up for Prime Video on its own. Hoping that’s helpful! 💓
