This stuff is awesome for muscle pain. I tried a sample a long time ago, and when I recently pulled my calf muscle, I knew I had to find some. Biofreeze works better than anything I have ever tried. It absorbs quickly and completely, and the smell dissipates after a few minutes. Be careful when applying, because it is very slippery and can slide right off your hand before you have a chance to rub it into your skin.
