i actually did this deal as pick up and just asked for the receipt to be printed. that allows you to combo both the pick up discount and the ibotta as well as cash back making them. $4 each!
Sweet! Glad to hear how this deal worked out for you with pick-up, Desiree. 🙌💕
I’ve found Walgreens to be wildly inconsistent with receipt printing on pickups. Sometimes they print automatically, sometimes if you ask. One time I was told it was impossible.
Such a bummer that each store is different with receipt printing for pickup orders! Thanks for sharing your experience with this, Rob! 🤗❤️

It is going to depend on the training of the employee and what the manager allows. Newer employees are trained on the new hand held scanners and with those it is indeed not possible to print a receipt since they are not connected to a printer. Employees that have been there for awhile will know how to check pickups out on the standard cash registers that are connected to printers. If an employee doesn’t checkout out items correctly on the standard cash registers Walgreens is out a significant amount of cash so managers definitely prefer the handheld scanners. I think this happens a fair amount since I have had to call the stores several times to explain I haven’t been charged. I now wait in the parking lot to get the text message my order has been picked up so I don’t have to return or call. For me I have found asking to check out on a standard register works better as opposed to asking for a printed receipt. It is a shame there are no guarantees but that is why.
Thanks a bunch for this helpful response and explanation, JD827! We sure do appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience with us! 🤗💖
