Here’s what you need to know about the Verizon Class Action Lawsuit…

Do you qualify for the $100 million Verizon lawsuit settlement?

Calling all Verizon users! Check your mailbox and email inbox this week for a notification regarding a Class Action Lawsuit against Verizon as you may qualify for a portion of the settlement.

Verizon users will receive a notice with instructions on how to file a claim. Note that to be considered for a portion of the settlement, you must file by April 15th, 2024.

The lawsuit stems from complaints that Verizon is charging an “administration charge” without properly disclosing the fees in the advertised monthly plan prices. Though Verizon denies any wrongdoing, they are prepared to pay up to remedy the situation.

How to apply for your Verizon lawsuit claim…

To be eligible for a payout, you must have signed up for a post-paid wireless account or data plan from January 1, 2016 to November 8, 2023. If that sounds like you, you’ll receive a notice via email or postal mail with a Notice ID and Confirmation Code so you can head over here to file your claim by April 15, 2024.

You’ll also need to specify whether you’d like to receive the money as a check or electronic payment. The payout is at least $15 per person but will vary depending on how long you’ve been a Verizon customer and the number of other customers filing claims.

Hip Tip: Two Hip Sidekicks received this notice from the email address: donotreply@verizonadministrativechargesettlement.com.

To be safe, do not follow any links directly from the email. Instead, visit the official claim site and enter the Notice ID and Confirmation Code that was sent to you.

Do I have other options besides filing a claim?

You can ignore the lawsuit and simply do nothing which will forfeit your right to a payout.

You can also retain your right to take action without filing a claim. To do so, you must “Opt-Out” by mailing a signed request by February 20, 2024.

Lastly, you can choose to comment or object to the ruling but still file for a claim and receive payment. To do this, you must object or comment by February 26, 2024.

See the website’s FAQ section for more information on opting out or objecting, including the addresses you need to mail in your requests.

Remember these dates:

  • February 20, 2024 – Opt-Out deadline
  • February 26, 2024 – Objection deadline
  • March 22, 2024 – Fairness hearing
  • April 15, 2024 – Last day to file a claim

If you’re a Verizon customer, keep an eye on your inbox or mailbox for the notice that includes your Notice ID and confirmation code. If you need additional information on the settlement, contact the settlement administrator at 1-844-689-0186.

We just dropped Verizon at Christmas after being with them for 5+ years. Is this only for current customers?

    • Ruth

No, if you were a customer during the period in question and you meet the qualifications, you are entitled to a portion of the settlement

Hi Kari! It appears to be for those that were customers during that period mentioned above. You can also check that you received a personalized notice via email or in the mail with a Notice ID and Confirmation Code. Hope that helps! 🥰
