You wouldn’t need this if you used only 1 tablespoon (small/med load) to 2 tablespoons (large load) of detergent – no matter what brand. Tide (in particular P&G), is guilty of “forced consumerism” (the more you use, the more you buy).
The excess detergent isn’t fully rinsed out, which attracts even more grime and stink.
Minimum detergent and white vinegar (1/4 cup) for the rinse cycle will keep your laundry looking and smelling cleaner for longer.
Same goes for “softener” (attracts grime and holds onto stink over time). Use the vineger for the rinse and wool dryer balls in the dryer to prevent static (and save a few minutes from a dryer cycle).
