Here’s what to know about AT&T’s data breach.

At&T store front

Are you a current or former AT&T customer? AT&T has agreed to a $177 million settlement following data breaches revealed in 2024 that involved customer info spanning back several years. If your personal information was compromised, you may be eligible to claim compensation.

The first breach, acknowledged in March 2024, exposed sensitive data like Social Security numbers and birth dates of 73 million customers (including past account holders). The second breach, disclosed in July, exposed call and text logs of nearly all AT&T cellular customers. While AT&T denies wrongdoing, the company agreed to settle to avoid prolonged litigation.

Potential compensation includes:

  • Up to $5,000 for documented losses from the March breach
  • Up to $2,500 for documented losses from the July breach
  • Up to $7,500 for those affected by both breaches.

To qualify, head here to file your claim by November 18th, 2025. Final court approval is set for December 3rd, 2025.

Customers eligible to file a claim should receive an email with the subject line: ‘Email Notice of Proposed Class Action Settlement’ coming from attsettlement@e.emailksa.com. Be sure to check your inbox, spam, and trash folders, as these emails can easily get missed.

Millions of AT&T customers had sensitive info exposed, from personal details to financial data. This settlement gives eligible users a chance to recover losses. Be sure to track any damages, watch for official emails, and share with family or friends who might be affected.

Is the link broken? I can’t access it. Also I have AT&T internet!

Sorry for the troubles! The link above is still working for me when checking now. You might try opening in a different browser to see if that does the trick. Hoping it loads up for you soon! 🤞💗

You have to have a claim code that AT&T sent you. I did not get one so I cannot apply.

Does anyone know how this works on a family plan? Do all the adults get a claim number, or just the main account holder?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

I did find this wording listed in the details through the link above – “Account Owners or Line Users”. You could check for the email or try reaching out for any additional details if more helpful. ❤️ – (833) 890-4930

How were SSNs exposed? I don’t recollect that being needed to get a phone plan or internet. Is there an AT&T credit card or something?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! Here are some details I found on how that happened!
“On March 30, 2024, AT&T announced that AT&T-specific fields were contained in a data set released on the dark web (“AT&T 1 Data Incident”). Then, on July 12, 2024, AT&T announced a second data incident where certain limited data had been illegally downloaded from an AT&T workspace on a third-party cloud platform hosted by Snowflake, Inc. ”

You can find more on this through the link above. Hoping that helps! 🤗

Here are some notes on this settlement process from my experience. 1) My email came from “Kroll Settlement Administration”, not what was listed above, so look for that sender as well. Yes, it was in my spam. 2) From the info in that official link, there are multiple pots of compensation money coming back. The fixed $5,000/$2,500/$7,500 payment option mentioned is only for documented losses due to the 2 data breeches, and you have to prove your losses were traceable back to these incidents. OR, you can simply choose to go into the “tiered” compensation fund, where you get an unknown amount back that will be based on how many people apply for this tiered option and share in the total pot. You don’t have to prove any specific loss with this one. You just put in your claim number from the email they sent out into the on-line form, along with your email address. It takes just 3 minutes. I chose this option.
The whole settlement is quite confusing, so I hope this helps!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks a bunch for the details you’ve found through your experience, Eric! 🙌 Very helpful to know!
