Boar’s Head Expands Listeria Recall to Include 7 Million Pounds of Deli Meats
The Boar’s Head Recall was just expanded to include more products. Here’s what to know.
In late July, Boar’s Head announced a recall on over 200,000 pounds of its ready-to-eat products due to concerns of contamination by Listeria monocytogenes. Just a few days later, the company expanded the recall to include another 7 million pounds of products over the same concern.
The recall occurred after a sample of liverwurst was found to be contaminated. For precautionary reasons, Boar’s Head has now recalled all the products at the same facility. So far, some 34 people across 13 states have experienced sickness, including 2 deaths and 33 hospitalizations.
If you have recently purchased liverwurst, salami, bologna, ham, beef, or other Boar’s Head products, pay attention to this recall and dispose of any impacted products that may be in your home. It is also recommended that you clean your refrigerator to prevent cross-contamination.
If you have a recalled product in your home, you may bring it to the store of purchase for a refund.
