Do you know about the LEGO trade-in program? Here’s what you’ll need to know to start earning!

LEGO Take-Back Program

Looking to declutter your old LEGO bricks? For a limited time, LEGO’s Take-Back Program makes it easy to give them a new life!

Simply pack up your unwanted LEGO bricks and send them back. Although LEGO accepts a variety of brick types, keep in mind that some pieces and items are not accepted.

What’s in it for you?

When you participate, you can choose between receiving a LEGO eGift credit or digital cash. For eligible bricks, you’ll receive either $6 per pound on a LEGO eGift Credit or $3.60 per pound in Digital Cash.

If you want to buy more LEGOs it’s a no-brainer to pick the LEGO credit, but you still have the option of digital cash if you aren’t interested in new LEGO sets.

What items are eligible?

Accepted Items: LEGO bricks and elements (fully disassembled and in good condition), LEGO Minifigures and Mini-dolls (no need to disassemble), and LEGO Baseplates.

Not Accepted: LEGO DUPLO bricks, non-LEGO items, partially or fully built LEGO sets, batteries, electronics, storage containers, packaging, or building instructions.

How does it work?

First, you can estimate how much money you’ll receive based on the weight of your eligible bricks here. Next, make sure your bricks are fully disassembled, pack them up, and ship them using the shipping label provided by the LEGO Take-Back website.

Your old LEGOs will be cleaned, sorted, and prepared to be reused or responsibly recycled. Once your bricks have been verified by LEGO’s team, you’ll receive an email with your eGift card or digital cash.

Who benefits?

Anyone who wants to declutter while supporting sustainability! 🌍 So whether you’re upgrading to new sets, purging old collections, or just want to contribute to a greener future, the LEGO Take-Back Program is a win-win!

Also… you could donate the LEGOs to a local school (STEM teacher) and they will love you forever!!!
Bonus, no disassembly or sorting needed 🙂

Thank you so much for that suggestion! 🙌💕

I went to add this to my hip2save list and noticed my entire list of things I saved all year on the app is now empty 😭 Anyone else have this happen? Also I can no longer comment on the app for awhile now. Just says “error”.

Oh no! SO sorry, Tricia. I have passed this along to the team to look into. In the meantime, you can also feel free to share with us over email, including any possible screenshots as well as the device you are using. appsupport@hip2save.com Thank you so much for the heads up! ❤️
