Here’s how to turn an inexpensive paintable ceramic Christmas tree into gorgeous, high-end-looking Christmas decor as a fun DIY craft!

Big holiday cheer on a small decorating budget! 🎄

If you love a festive DIY that looks high-end but stays totally budget-friendly, painting the 8-inch ceramic trees from Michaels is a holiday win. These little trees are classic, nostalgic, and even better when you snag them on sale. True vintage ceramic Christmas trees like these can be super spendy, so this is a fun alternative.

With a bit of paint and creativity, you can turn an inexpensive blank into a custom holiday décor piece that looks high-end.

Michaels often puts these ceramic trees on sale, making them a perfect base for a thrifty project. Instead of spending big on boutique holiday décor, you get to create something unique for a fraction of the price.

Vintage ceramic Christmas tree supplies are easy to find!

All you need are the ceramic tree, acrylic paint, and a paintbrush or two. Green is a classic choice, but don’t be afraid to have fun. Soft pinks, snowy whites, metallic golds, or even muted neutrals can completely change the vibe. A quick coat of paint instantly transforms the tree and makes it feel personal.

I opted to paint mine with gingerbread vibes, so I used brown paint and then used white puffy paint to embellish the branches.
