if you love a cute holiday gift but don’t enjoy spending a lot, this Dollar Tree Valentine’s Day DIY is for you. Using a heart-shaped yard stake, candy, and shrink wrap, you can create an adorable gift basket that looks boutique-worthy but costs just a few dollars.

It’s perfect for kids, teachers, friends, neighbors, or even a simple surprise for your sweetheart! We originally spotted this idea from this viral Instagram video, and I’m so glad I gave it a try!

They have a ton of Valentine’s day related goodies right now in-store, so be sure to stop in and check it out. Feel free to customize it for your person or even consider including a gift card for a coffee or something fun!

These cute heart-shaped stakes make a perfect base to create a mini gift basket so you can layer in candy or treats. Cover it with shrink wrap and you have a fancy-looking small gift that looks special and festive. Plus, the recipient can use the stake as decor.

Additional tips for this Dollar Tree candy bouquet:

  • I tried this idea with clear cellophane wrap and it didn’t quite work the same with the blow dryer. Be sure to buy actual shrink wrap if trying this method of shrinking the wrap with heat.
  • Another idea would be to use tape or hot glue to attach the candy and then wrap it with cellophane for a similar look.
