If you have rechargeable hand warmers tucked inside a coat pocket, glove box, or winter gear bin, take a minute to check the model number.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of approximately 1.5 million OCOOPA rechargeable hand warmers because their lithium-ion batteries can overheat and catch fire.

OCOOPA Direct has received 1,480 reports of the hand warmers overheating, including 15 fires and 350 burn injuries. The recall also follows a reported death in February 2026.

Recalled Ocoopa Hand Warmers

Check your OCOOPA hand warmers for these model numbers:

  • UT3053
  • UT3056
  • ZLS-118
  • ZLS-118S
  • ZLS-118D
  • H01
  • H01(PD)

The model and three-digit batch numbers are printed on the underside of each hand warmer.

The affected products were sold in various colors and designs, typically as a two-pack, and sold by Amazon, Walmart.com, Ocoopa.com, and Ocoopa.net from September 2018 through May 2026.

Have a recalled hand warmer? Stop using it immediately!

To receive a full refund, write “RECALLED” on the hand warmer with a permanent marker and submit a photo showing the marking, model number, and three-digit batch number through the OCOOPA recall page.

Approved refunds will be issued to the original form of payment or as an OCOOPA gift card.

Don’t throw it away in your normal trash!

Do not place the recalled hand warmers in the trash, curbside recycling, or a standard battery recycling box. Contact your local household hazardous waste facility for instructions on safely disposing of a defective lithium-ion battery.

For additional help, you can email OCOOPA Direct at ocooparecalls@ocoopa.cc.
