Off topic. I got my $15 Discover card from dove yesterday. Just wanted to say thank you. I would have never known about the offer if you didn’t post about it.

    • Ashley

Oh yeah! i forgot about that one…i hope mine comes soon 🙂 Thanks collin!

      • Melody

Has anyone tried to use theirs yet? I tried to call the # on the card to authorize it, then use it on a website online that accepts Discover cards and got an email later that

“We received your recent order, but we were unable to
process your payment with the information given. Your bank
informed us that they were unable to authorize the charge to the
        card provided.”

Did anyone get it to work on a website online?

        • Melody

          Nevermind. I think I figured it out. : )

Almost took advantage of this deal but then I changed my mind. It’s so easy to buy stuff I don’t need because it’s so cheap! Grr!! 🙂 Thanks again for all the great deals though!

These are really cool looking but, my experience with metal cups has been that the water tastes funny. Am I the only one or do others have this experience?

    • J

Yep, I’ve never noticed my water tasting funny. I refuse to use plastic bottles.

    • Melissa

I have a metal water bottle and have noticed as the time went by the water tasted funny. You are not the only one. 🙂

    • tilla

you are def not the only one. it tastes funny. my husband will drink water from a hose but has even complained about the odd taste from the metal bottles.

OT, but have other people gotten an email from Ebates telling you that you will get your unredeemed Cashbaq $ if you make a $25 purchase through Ebates? I was excited to see that!

I want these so bad but i recently bought something online and had around 1500$ in fradulent charges come through on my bank account just this weekend from buying things online! I am soo super scared to buy anything now 🙁 and the only things I have bought were from secure sites. The bank was really great but am trigger shy now. The lady at the bank mentioned that I could get a card and apply money to that so it is not connected to my checking acct. Does anyone know how much those cost in addition to the amt. you put on the card?

    • tilla

i would recommend using paypal. but i am honestly completely shocked. I do the majority of my shopping online for over a decade and zero issues. I have had my checks and credit cards stolen out of my mailbox though, complete bummer. Recently my friend used her debit at Applebees and the waitress copied down her number and charged 1700 online that night, luckily the credit union caught and stopped it

We had somthing very similar happen. Now what we do, is if we get a rebate in the mail, in the form of a prepaid visa-type card, we ususally use those for small purchases, ( the most I have ever gotten on those cards is $25. Usually the amount is $5-$10.) and the normal bank cards for sites we are definitely safe using. So if you are spending a small amount online and if someone were to get ahold of your numbers from that rebate card, the most they could take from you is the $5-$10 you originally had on the card.
      Hope this makes sense!

I understand how you feel, I had that happen to me last year. It was so frustrating to have to go thru cancelling my debit card and waiting for a new one, etc. They don’t think mine was taken from ordering something online tho because whoever it was tried “testing” it at Walgreens for $1 a couple times before they starting making gradually bigger purchases which threw the red flag to my bank. So anyway, I just want you to know that it will get better and eventually the thought of ordering online again won’t freak you out. Most banks are so great at catching that stuff right away and getting it stopped before too much happens. I wish you luck even tho I know I know it’s quite a disruption 🙁

OT: If I have a Walgreen Manufacturers coupon can I use it with a walgreens instant value coupon?

Love these! Target had them for $14.99 each at one point. I got a ton when they went on clearance because it was easy for my 4 year old to open by herself.

  10. CF

Yeah, the trick to the metal water bottles is just use them as you need them. Don’t store water in them – it will taste funny over time. Just grab, fill n’ run. 🙂

RE: bad taste from metal bottles. Aluminum bottles have a plastic coating that absorbs odors & water tastes funny after a while. Stainless steel bottles do not have a coating & don’t have that funny taste. To clean my water bottles, I use baking soda & Dawn and clean it with a baby bottle brush. I also make sure I rinse them VERY well. Look on the bottom of your metal bottle. If it is stainless steel it should be stamped into the metal. I HTH!

Just a heads up; I had a couple of bottles like these (not this same brand, mind you, so this is only speculation) and the picture on the outside wore off over time and looked horrible. I almost bought these until I remembered my new rule about only getting plain ones.

I love these types of bottles, but was going to skip this deal bc I’ve been on a spending spree lately (booking trips 🙂 but after I checked my email I saw that I got $5 off from buy.com put in my account. Okay, so I don’t think I’ve ever noticed an e-mail from buy.com before so that was pretty randomly exciting. They gave me 500pts which equals $5. Couldn’t pass up 2 bottles for $5 shipped. Anyhow, that is my long-winded way of saying check your e-mail!

Woot.com had these same water bottles as a 2 pack for 4.99. With a $5 flat shipping rate on up to 3 orders. I ordered 2 two packs for 14.98 (including shipping) making them $3.75 each. Woot is a one day one deal site so it’s not up there anymore, but when they don’t sell out of a product it usually shows up again.
