You are right!! However my store had a sign that said starts at 7AM. That is sooo hard for a Saturday but I do need some new shorts.
ok……so I tried to use the groupo and they said no. I called the 800 number and customer relations is not open yet, so I am waiting to call back. If they say no the mgr of the store said he would hold on to the shorts so I can still get the price after the sale because customer relations does no open untill 11 am. Wish me luck!!
does anyone know how much their shorts are before the 60% off??
they run about $20-25 regular price. im hoping my local store won’t be flooded w/ crazy shoppers too early!!
Will my store by open that early if it’s in the mall?
I work at Old Navy in a mall and i know the sale in my store is going from 9 to 1 because we can’t open any earlier than 9 because the mall won’t let us.
@ Christina, I read on their FB pg that it depends on the store, they said to call. It sounds like if they are in a mall w/ no outside entrances, they might not open that early.
I went to mall for other stores and decided to stop by at Old Navy at 1:30pm. A man told me about 60% off denim shorts deal is going on until 2:00pm, so I assumed they only opened at 10:00am like rest of the mall. I was lucky to grab 2 pairs of shorts for my sons, and could use $10 off $50 purchase coupon from Sunday newspaper on top of 60% off denim shorts deal. (FYI, I bought more items in addition to denim shorts.)
I forgot to add that there were sale signs saying “60% off denim shorts. 4 hours only!”. That’s how I figured my store opened at 10:00am instead of 7am.
People on ON’s FB page are saying you can’t use the $20/10 Groupon for this. I’m so confused. Can you or can’t you?!
Hm the groupon counts as a coupon and so does the shorts sale so I don’t think you can :/
I arrived at Old Navy this morning at 7AM for the denim shorts one day wonder sale. At 7AM, I was the first one in the door of the store. I was anxious to buy my husband a couple pairs of shorts at a great price. When I went to the men’s shorts, there were 6 pair on the rack. Not 6 of each size or even style, but 6 total pair. I asked a clerk where the other shorts were and she said that was it. She said, “they didn’t send us any extra for this event.” I asked if there were any rainchecks being given or if I could get the discounted price online, but the answer was “no.” I am an avid Old Navy shopper, but this is very disappointing to me. I expect Old Navy to have more than 6 of an item available for sale on any given day, but especially when there is a huge sale being promoted for the item. At the very least, I would have like to have been offered a raincheck or a code to get the item online for the sale price. Honestly, if I were not the first person in the door, I wouldn’t be so upset. If I had arrived an hour later, I would have just assumed other customers beat me to the bargain, but to only have 6 pair of men’s denim shorts at the very start of the 4 hour sale is a little ridiculous. I sent an e-mail to Old Navy about the incident, we’ll see if they are willing to help. I hope everyone else has better luck than I did.
go ahead and buy a pair at the discounted price and when they get your husbands size exchange them! That is what I was going to do if they did not have my size. hth

My store in IL did not have any men’s shorts and I was the second person in the door at the moment they opened. I too needed to buy shorts for my husband. I wrote to their corporate office. Lets see if I get a response.
Bought six pairs of shorts (I have two girls) for $58.00 and some change (was $141.00 before the discount). They would NOT let me use my Groupon, which would have made it $38.00. I read my Groupon and it didn’t have any stipulations. They said, “since they are using a barcode/coupon to ring up the shorts that I can’t use another barcoded discount.” I said, “it’s an advertised deal, not a coupon.” That didn’t work either. I just left it as, “I will call corporate on this.”
I used $10 off $50 purchase coupon which was in Sunday newspaper in addition to 60% off denim shorts. I didn’t have any problems.
I went this morning, and they could not get the Groupon to work with the jean short special. (And it’s ONLY denim shorts, no other shorts!) I was told, however, very secretly, that I could make my purchase and then later bring it back to exchange’ and try to use the Groupon then. They could not promise that it would work but it’s worth a shot! Still, it was disappointing – plus they had almost NOTHING in my daughter’s size!
can we use the $10 off $50 coupon on these?
The signs at the store state that the deal cannot be combined with other discounts or coupons…HOWEVER! I bought 6 pairs of shorts and 2 bathing suites and was able to use the coupon. I think it was because I bought the bathing suites! So have them try it, because my cashier was surprised it went through!
Score!!! 13 pairs of shorts for $40.20 in various sizes for my son and nephew. Thanks for the post. They also had a $10/$50 in last Sundays paper on the back of the flyer.
Old Navy should be ashamed to broadcast this event and have only one style for every department. I went in after looking on line for the shorts I wanted and to get there and only see selected item was a waste of gas.
I was really disappointed and left empty handed. They had zero denim shorts for toddler girls and they wouldn’t let me buy a pair of bermuda denim shorts for myself. They told me bermuda’s weren’t included. Funny the sign said all denim, no clearance. I’m done with Old Navy’s one day sales!
Got 6 pairs of shorts for $37! I was happy!
I scored 6 pairs for $24 — why? Because they let me use the groupon!!! I had no idea it wasn’t allowed – and I remembered that the Groupon site said that it would count with sales/deals,etc. Without question, the cashier did an override on every pair of denim shorts and hand entered the 60% off price! I guess I got lucky on this one! (which was good, b/c I actually drove over at 7:00 and my store did not open until 9:00!!!)
