You need to place an order during your birthday month (with a code they send you via e-mail, if I remember correctly). However, you can’t get the birthday gift on the same order you get the lunch freebie–unless this has changed since my birthday month. HTH! 🙂
When your birthday is near they will send you a code to redeem on the site. You have to order something and then using the code it will be added to your order. If you get the birthday gift though you will not be eligible for the Tuesday/Thursday freebies (unless something has changed since I ordered in Jan.) The birthday gift I got was a tin with a full size bronzer/eyeshadow thing that I use everyday – great for travel – and a mini lip gloss.

I, too, love these Smashbox deals! Last week during Let’s Do Lunch! I ordered a 12 dollar eyeshadow from Curtain Call and got a deluxe sample of their limitless eyeliner in onyx (which I discovered is my new favorite eyeliner! And this deluxe sized sample will last me for weeks, maybe a month!), a free sample of their lid primer, and a free gift which was a waterproof gel liner in the color peacock! So pretty and worth $22! And ya gotta love the free shipping! I am always so hesitant to spend the money on prestige cosmetic brands if I am not absolutely convinced it is worth the money. Smashbox does a great job of convincing you when they offer such great deals. 🙂
Since following this site I have spent a lot less money on the makeup that I love to buy. I have signed up for Birchbox and also signed up for the Testtube (which was super awesome) and just got this great deal. I used to spend a fortune on cosmetics and facial care but have been able to get some pretty awesome deals. Thanks so much for sharing these.

Birchbox and test tube are subscription services. There is a blog about Birchbox on here. It’s pretty awesome. It costs $10 per month and each month they send a box filled with 4-5 samples and sometimes full size items. It is really nice to have something delivered to my house every month. You can go to you tube and find lots of posts about it. The other one is Test Tube and it is a quarterly subscription. It does average about $39 ever 3 months but I think you get better samples and you get more full sized items. I have loved just about everything in both programs. The test tube averages about $13 a month which is only a few more dollars than what I’m paying for Birchbox. My husband has a gym membership and I have a cosmetic membership:) Oh, also with birchbox you get 10 points for each item you review and once you get 100 points you get $10 to spend on birchbox.com. It took me 2 months to get enough points to make a purchase. Look on youtube for videos as they really helped me make my decision. I also use the samples that I don’t want and put together gift baskets for my mom and grandma and other relatives that I know like beauty stuff. They absolutely LOVE it. I’ve also tried stuff I would have never tried and found some pretty awesome items by using these services.
I get both subscriptions as well. Test Tube blows Birchbox out of the water, but I do love both. Yesterday I got over $300 of Urban decay for $52 shipped, 3 Too faced value sets (cosmetic bags full of products) and free deluxe samples for $16.30 shipped ( bought a $50 GC when i had a 25% off coupon and then used that with a coupon code and got a SUPER deal).
I am a makeup junkie! Too faced has the best CS ever (and always great deals – although their new site prohibits coupon stacking 🙁 )

Sweet! I don’t buy make up anymore unless I can get a bunch of free samples with it – or it’s dirt cheap. This past weekend Target had $12 foundation for $2 and those loreal hip duos for 1.78! I bought $30 worth of make up for $5. Great deal, this is a great deal, too.

I just placed my order and afterwards realized that I received an email a few weeks back about a birthday pack for points members. I called their customer service number and was told that the birthday pack will be mailed as a courtesy since I forgot to apply it when I ordered. Very pleased!!

I was so excited to try this for the first time that I forgot to check ebates or Shop at Home to see if they offered any cash back. Oh well – I ordered a much needed eyeliner and am excited about the samples and trying this brand. I normally use all the Lancome samples I get from their special purchases but I love trying new things. I just have to be very careful what I use on my face since it is super sensitive and just about most things cause all kinds of issues. Fortunately – my eyes aren’t as picky! 🙂 Thanks for posting!

I can only assume they are all out of the free $15 gifts. It tells you to check back next Tuesday 🙁 The bonus sample is on the actual sample page (it’s the third item, you just have to check the box beneath it). I guess I will wait till next time for mine 🙁

I just called the ppl at smashbox because I didn’t get the free stuff either and she told me they had stopped it for this week due to them updating the site. But they will start it back up next week. She cancelled my order for me and was super nice!! So check back next week it should be good to go again. Love this deal!!
Same thing here. I purchased something, was able to get 2 free samples, but the other 2 never showed up. I called, and even though other people have said they were abvle to get the deal, I was informed that they weren’t doing it until August 23rd. That wasn’t very clear from the site, though, which is kinda crummy. However, the rep I talked to said she would cancel my order, so it should be okay, and I can try next time.
I scored a pretty good deal at Ulta just now. I was in need of foundation and got a “starter kit” of PUR minerals (similar to Bare minerals, but I actually like this one way better. Bare would make my face itch) Anyhow, right now they have alot of clearance items for $1 such as Ulta brand liptsticks etc. I just got what I needed. So apparently, this deal was never supposed to be posted today because they don’t even have the free product until next week. CS rep said everyone that checked out while the deal was ‘accidentally posted’ due to updates to the website, would be emailed some time next week and offered the deal when the product is available. For those of us who placed the order after the deal was down, we are out of luck. They can’t even promise to cancel your order unless you catch their customer service within 15 min’s of your order showing up on their system (which could be ANY TIME for two hours after placing the order!). So, hopefully they catch mine and cancel and I can order next week when things are running smoothly! 🙁 I never like having difficult first experiences with companies as I tend not to go back. So many of you have said good things about this company that I will probably try again next assuming my order gets cancelled.
Right now at the Urban decay.com they have 37 items are on sale. they have there loose pigment eyeshadow for $1.00 when its normally cost 20.00 i bought 4 of them(Asphyxia,Shattered,and X) and it cost me only $4.00 plus they gave me 1free sample i do have to pay $6 shipping plus tax i ended paying $10.28 total. most of there product is vegan

Yeah, I got a ton of the stuff the other day. Not much stuff left. I got the loose powder in shag, smog, and goddess ($1 from $20). I also got 3 of the UVF tinted moisturizer ($6 down form $32), 2 sunless tanning ($4 from $20), 2 face wash clean and sober ($3 down form $18) and a brow box ($7 from $29). I love scoring makeup deals.
Just spoke with smashbox. They said they will ship out my order from today and then ship out the free eye shadow in Pronto next week for no extra shipping. They apologized for the goof today and said they will honor the free eyeshadow. So I didn’t cancel my order.
