Awesome idea, but they don’t have my city.
There are only 4 options in Chicago and they’re all sold out.
They started it an 9am. There were 20 plus this morning…

This Groupon site is sometimes over my head 🙁
Can’t bring up SC or Charleston….and I know there are deals here.
If I can’t get it to work after 2 minutes, then I move on to other “hip” deals 🙂
I think “Groupon Now” Is different from the regular Groupon site/deals. I think there are much less options in Groupon Now.
Hopefully they will be adding more cities, especially in southwest Florida, where I live! =)
I heard about this yesterday, so my sister and I were planning to go out for a $1 lunch today, but when I checked the “deals” this morning, our “lunch” options were: 2 lattes (2 restaurants offering this), 12 beignets, or a tin of gourmet popcorn!

I agree with Jill! This email was incredibly misleading! My husband and I were planning on having lunch out but we only had three options and two of those were for lattes. That is NOT lunch! HA 🙂
My only choice is for ice cream! Now that’s a lunch my kids would LOVE!!! 🙂 I’ll pass, thank you! 🙂
You must live near me or have my problem – three other choices sold out and ice cream on the other side of town was the last one.

Houston has lots of options. Only thing is that it’s a big city so places are far. Oh well I guess it’s adventure day to try something new!

A lot of negative comments, so I’ll add a positive one! If you live in Phoenix there are 20 options. I just purchased $12 worth of Mexican food for $1. The deal is good until 5:00PM so I can get food after work. There were a variety of choices around town. Things like $20 at a wings place for $1 and others with Venezuelan food, vegetarian food. So, hopefully options will be added to other cities soon.

Lots for Portland, OR too! Got 2 $1 for $12 at an American Fare bistro about 5 min from my husbands work! Can’t wait to surprise him for lunch 🙂

Are there different deals each day and what time do they start selling them? I’m in the Phx area.
Dallas and ft worth tx also has a lot of different options as well as a variety of cuisines. I live in the burbs and was able to snag one to an Italian place 2 miles from my house that I’ve been wanting to try! Does anyone know if the dollar deals are for today only or a daily from now on thing.
I live in OC, So Cal and there are lots of options! Only thing is that it’s Friday and traffic in these neck of the woods is horrific if you have to get on and off the freeway (since everything’s so spread apart). Still, I think it’s a good deal if you have a hubby who’s willing to drive and pick up food.
Also, live in So Cal, and I’m seeing a lot of deals! But, i’ve never done Groupon before… I’m planning on purchasing one for an Indian restaurant that’s offering 20 bucks of food (until 10 tonight) for a buck! So, my question is if it doesn’t say anything about take out… ( I know they have it) should I be able to use it on take out?
Great idea….but they were all on the other side of town or sold out. I am NOT going 30 miles for a $1 meal! Great idea just poor execution for my area (go figure, no one ever really considers Michigan).
Especially when I’m reading that a lot of folks are getting $10 of $20 for one – here it’s $5 or $6 to one if I’m lucky and the cutoff was 3pm! There should be some kind of standard – I’d rather not see areas with tons of choices (for some reason they defaulted me to open on another city although I have a login and am logged in) and none at all for me.
I’m from the Chicago area and I got one of the groupons today! I got an 18″ pizza (jumbo size) and 10 wings for $1. The receipt said it had a value of $32.21. Cheap lunch and everyone at work was VERY happy!! 🙂
