FREE Cortex Camera iTunes App (Today Only!)
Here’s an awesome app for all you photographers – valid today only! Head on over to the iTunes store where you can download the highly rated Cortex Camera app completely FREE for your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad (requires iOS 5.0 or later). This app is normally $2.99 so this is a nice freebie!
Tired of the grainy photos you get when using your device’s camera in low light? Cortex camera combines dozens of images to create a sharp image without the low-quality noise that shows up when using the default camera.
(Thanks, Miss beSavin!)
Thank you I was able to download it first freebie of the day!
Thank you!
Thanks! I was getting tired of the fuzzy pics on the ipod! HAHA
I just downloaded this; does this mean that we now click on this app instead of the regular camera app? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I’m still learning how to you my iPhone and iPad. Thanks!
You need to go into settings, privacy, photos and turn the Cortex cam to on in order to use it.
if you said no to allowing them access to photos I think. That is what I said at first, and then had to go in and do the above. A msg popped up when I tried to take my first picture with it.
I did allow the app to access photos, so the app is turned on. However, now I have two apps: one is the regular iPhone camera app, and the second is the Cortex Cam app. So, do I no longer tap the regular iPhone camera app, and just always tap the Cortex one? For some reason, I kind of thought the Cortex app would just merge into the camera app already on my phone. Thanks!
No you’ll definitely still want to use your regular camera phone to take picture sometimes. Because this Cortex app is best used in low light with a photo subject that is perfectly still. As soon as you start taking photos with it (especially on a moving test subject like a toddler) you’ll quickly see the differnce in what you would want to use this app for and when you’d want to use your regular camera phone for.
This app really does make the image more clear. thanks for the freebie!
Is anyone experiencing a really big delay with it?
Thanks! Love this for my iPad. I tried to take a pic of my wiggly 3 y/o w/it but, he wiggled, so he looks like a ghost. LOL! Will be fun to use though- if anything, the effects will be cool. The pics really are much clearer! (if the subject doesn’t move…LOL!) Thanks, Collin!
Much better quality that what I had, thanks!
When I downloaded it, it asked for access to my photos. That is fine, of course. Then a pop-up window asks for my location. Why would it need that?
It asked for my location, too, but I declined it & the app still worked. It did tell me that to see the pic immediately, I would need to allow access to my location. But, I just went into my film roll on the iPad and the pics were still there.
Yes, I declined it as well but was still able to find the photos i took with the app – a zillion times clearer than my photos taken with i-photo. Meanwhile, I was hoping the app would somehow improve my old photos – or why would it be asking to access them?
I was wondering why they need access to my old photos? I loaded the app but now I am not sure I will use it. I dont like when they want to access everything on my phone. Any techies on here that can answer why these free apps always want access to everything on my phone?
Another great app in the App Store to download is called “App Gratis” (meaning free app) this app gives you 1 free app and an app half off, there is a new one everyday. Just letting you know so you can share with all other Hip2Savers 🙂
Thanks. I downloaded it but quickly realized that this app is ONLY good for low light photos in which the subject your taking the photo of is 100% still. Because this app takes 20 photos within a few seconds and then peices then together. Not good for taking a photo of a moving child. I still really love “Camera ” app for my iPhone in being an all around awesome app to customize your photos. I’ll keep this app since its free but don’t see a need to take a low light still photo all that often in everyday picture taking life.
Sorry, IPhone auto corrected me. I was trying to say that “camera ” app in iTunes is awesome with iPhone 4 & 5. I highly recommend “camera “
Wow… I can’t get this blog to allow me to say “camera…and them a physical plus sign after the word camera” . Look it up in iTunes.
how do I correct old photos using this app…any idea….?
I want to this too. I looked the app but didn’t find any option to correct the photos which I already have. Any one know ?!?
Oops .. I want to know this***
I dont think you can correct old photos. Only current photos that you take when you have this app open. I have another different camera app which has an import button which lets me import and edit old photos on my camera but this app seems really basic and doesn’t have any bells and whistles.
A bit off subject but I downloaded the Scrabble app that I happened to see on H2S the other day. How about I am already addicted!!!! LOL I don’t usually play games but now I’m constantly trying to beat the computer! Thanks Collin!
hey….thats great…could U tell me how to open that app from itunes…? i downloaded it on my mac…and cant seem to open it on my iphone…( same itunes account)…pls help!
lol… me too!
