We have this and my dear son loves it! I’d recommend a battery charger for this one 😉
My 2 year old son loves this! If recommend rechargeable batteries though, you’ll be using this every night 😉
My kids have the pillow pet version of this, which they sleep with every night, and I just changed the batteries yesterday for the 5th time since Christmas when they received them. Not bad IMO, frankly I’m impressed that at ages 4 & 6 they still love and use a toy they received almost 7 months ago! The pillow pet version has the option for lights to turn off after 20 min… not sure if this one does but you may want to check.
This one does have an automatic turn off after 45 minutes. We used to use it as the timer for nap time. If my son was still awake when ladybug turned off he was allowed to get up. I would say we change batteries every three months or so.
He also has the pillow pet dream light and we just changed the battery for the first time since Christmas. He only uses it at night with the timer though!
Although I’m not willing to pay $20 for it at this time, we have one of the Pillow Pet versions that was $13 (Bed Bath & Beyond!) and since I purchased it months ago, I’m only now needing to replace the batteries. My daughter (4) was scared to sleep in her room alone until she got one of these. Even my son (10) likes it, which I was surprised by! Definitely worth an investment for kids who are scared of the dark. 🙂
My son has the turtle and uses it every night to fall asleep with. I’ll be getting the ladybug for our daughter! Thanks Collin!
My brother has the turtle one for his daughter and it is so loud! Does anyone know how to lower the volume? We haven’t been able to find a switch or anything. I have no idea how anyone could fall asleep to it!
Because this was made by the sleep sheep company, I assumed that it had some soothing music to help babies fall asleep to. It does not. Even so, I bought this for our newborn niece at Christmas and her 3 yr old sister said she was “just trying it out” but hijacked it. We got her one of her own pillow pet varieties when it went on clearance at Rite Aid.
How well dose it work? Do the stars really shine on the ceiling well?
Yes, it sure does! Over our entire ceiling.
I bought one for my son last year and it was junk I wouldn’t pay $19 for this I paid under $10 for mine and I wouldn’t even pay that again for one.
My 2 and 4 year old loves their turtle! I was just looking at getting the lady bug for my two year old. The stars and moon shine pretty brightly. Just had to change the batteries on it. Our turlte doesnt make any sound. Just lights up the ceiling with stars. I actually like the cloud b light ups better than the pillow pet kind.
We have one (turtle) that we’ve had for 2-3 years (before the Pillow Pet kind came out). It glows in three colors. Blue is the brightest, followed by green. The yellow amber color is barely there. It has an automatic shut off. Battery use is great but I will admit that as the batteries drain the light gradually glows less brightly and I usually don’t realize how depleted it has gotten until I put in a new set. If I leave it on the nightstand it easily fills my daughter’s bedroom ceiling (11’x12′).
Generally, if yours makes noise or cost less than $10 it’s probably a slightly different product. There were several imitations available online with similar names.
I lookedfor a while for ours and this is a pretty good price but not a super hot deal.
My daughter got this for her first Christmas when she was about 1 year old, now she’s almost three and LOVES it. She uses it every single night to fall asleep too. Her older sister wants one now but with all these summer clearance clothing deals I’m broke!
I don’t want to be negative poster….but don’t get the turtle. The music is terribly loud – not “soothing” at all. With no volume control – it’s as loud as a rock concert!
Are you sure you got the regular Twilight Turtle and not another version or a similar product? Mine doesn’t make sounds at all…no speaker…nothing but light…
I have to agree… it must not be a Cloud B product. Our turtle makes no noise as well, just light.
