[h2s_box]Here’s what a few Hip2Save readers have had to say about this promotion…
I ordered mine and got them like 2 days later – I was SHOCKED! They were great and I am very pleased with them. The same glasses at Costco would have cost me approx $200 or better. I paid maybe $45 with the added stuff I did? Good deal! BUT I have to say I don’t think you can get them 100% free if that’s what you are aiming for… it will be at least $10-$20? But great quality!
I got mine within a week of ordering them. Love them and the price (just shipping) I get compliments on them all the time!
I totally did this last month. I love my glasses, they’re fun and cute. And cost me $15! My mom just couldn’t believe it. Thanks!!!
Ordered my daughter a free pair last year! They were fantastic. With her new prescription, I just ordered her extra thin lenses with all the coatings and only paid $59.90 about 1/4 what I would have paid at eye doctor. Ordered them on 13th, shipped on 15th… Cant’ wait to get them![/h2s_box]

I did this two years ago. My husband needs glasses will it work for him since he’s a new customer, or is it per household?
You just need a different email address
Do they have to contact your eye doctor to get your prescription? Thanks
You put in your prescription, Mary.
No you enter the information from your prescription.
No, you can get a copy of your prescription from your eye doctor on your own and you will type in this information on the coastal eyeglass website when you place your order. Make sure your eye doctor provides you with your Pupillary Distance (PD) number on your prescription as well. If you ask for it, by law, your eye doctor is required to tell you that number.
My husband and I both just created accounts and did this and we love live love our new glasses!!!!!
When does the promo end? I’d love to do this but won’t be able to get it done tonight!
I’ve used both coastal and zenical, their both fine you if know what your buying and what your needs are. Photos on a website really don’t match ones face. I would suggest going to costco or another store and trying on frames to see what works for you, recording the info and look for something similar on these sites.
Anything more than basic prescriptions will cost more(they work for me, most times I use dollar store readers), my wife requires progressives–at costco cost about $160 and they will take them back.
For less than $20 I would try these as a learning experience.
Question… we are new to the glasses scene. My 13 yr old just rec’d his first pair & I’m going to order one as a back up. Does anyone know how they run in size? Do I order him kids or mens?? I’m thinking the kids as little kids…. Any info would be great 🙂
It depends on his size. They should have fit him at the doctors and given him a size. For example my son is 10 and wears size 47.
Thanks 🙂
No problem 🙂
It should say the size of the glasses on the inside of the temple. Mine say 48 (width of the frame) – 17 (height of the lens) – 135 (length of the “arm”).
My three boys all wear glasses and I HIGHLY recommend Costco for glasses. Their prices are good and they are great about adjusting the frames when they get skewed a bit. Also, for active boys I recommend titanium frames with spring hinges. one brand we have had great luck with is “Flexon”. You can practically bend them like a pretzel and they bounce right back to shape (but don’t tell the kids!)
Lastly, if your kids play sports “Recspecs” goggles are crucial (they don’t sell them at Costco). They’re a bit expensive, but less expensive than a trip to the ER if your child gets hit in the face. Regular glasses can cut into the skin and really injure the child.
I actually just did this last week and got my glasses today and LOVE them! My favorite pair of glasses that I have ever owned and I don’t even like glasses! 🙂
can u order sun glasses for free?
I also have purchased from coastal and other online glasses vendors, mainly to see if the frame and lens quality were really as bad as the studies indicate. And now I have a broken pair of glasses that lasted less than three months prior to the frame cracking. And another pair of glasses with the wrong prescription in one lens. You get what you pay for.
Conclusion from a large study:
“Nearly half of prescription spectacles delivered directly by online vendors did not meet either the optical requirements of the patient’s visual needs or the physical requirements for the patient’s safety.”

I have ordered 3 pairs from online retailers, including costal, and have always had good results.
I used the code and it didn’t work. That’s just plain deceitful. I knew it was too good to be true!!
Tried the code and it did not work. That’s just plain deceitful. I knew it was too good to be true!!
It does work. I noticed that when I copied it it had a space before it. I took the space out and it worked fine. Also it needs to be on a frame that is part of the promotion.
Has anyone done this for contacts? Do you get one box or one box per eye? What about sunglasses?
I just ordered a pair. It was $16 total for shipping and handling. Thanks for the heads up!
Just tried it and the code didn’t work! :((( Knew it was too good to be true…

Just a heads up, they won’t let me select the free lenses, only the upgrades. My prescription isn’t THAT bad, only-4, but I guess they would still be too thick with the cheaper lenses. Disappointed :\
