What do other Hipsters think of Toys R Us Brand Batteries? Reviews in the past have been totally mixed – some love these batteries and others have not been impressed at all. If you have ordered these batteries in the past, feel free to share your thoughts below![/h2s_box]
(Thanks, Celeste!)
I looked up reviews and they got 3 out of 5 stars with 62 people who reviewed. I am going to pass and stick to Duracell and Energizer.
I bought some of these last year, also got some with a groupon which made a set free, they are pretty horrible. They last a very short amount of time and are very poor quality. I would not purchase them at all and I find myself avoiding using the free ones because of the quality of them.
We use these on wii motes and they last a good amount of time. We still have quite a few of the batteries we got last year with all the deals. We personally like them and wont hesitate to get them again
I’ve been using them for a long time and they work well.
Bought 72 pack for $14 from woot recently that too $5 off of amazon local made it $9 +$2 shipping
For 64 batteries I don’t think its a horrible deal. I mean yes they may last somewhat of a shorter time but for $10 I don’t think its bad at all! Especially if you cant afford the price of the top brands at regular prices.
we bought them a few years ago and thought they were fine. would buy them again..
I still have some left from last year as well and they were fine. For the price, I got some in each AA & AAA. Holidays are coming and it seems like the batteries just evaporate anyhow!
I would be careful using these batteries. Last big sale, I bought a few packages and within two months, most of them had leaked. We had to replace two remotes and throw away a remote controlled car. This only happened where we used the Toys R Us batteries. Just a warning.
Get the free ones from Harbor Freight. Lower quality probably, than Duracell, but at least free! I am set for life practically with all the free AA and AAA I have gotten from them lately.
Bought these last year around this time from a deal you posted and over half wouldn’t work. Will not buy them again.
My policy with batteries is to save the good ones like Energizer and Duracell for high-drain things like digital cameras and electronics. We use the off-brand ones for things like clocks and little toys that don’t need much power. I have tried to teach my kids this too. There is no sense wasting an expensive battery in a little toy that just goes beep.
As for leaking, I have had cases of leakage with expensive batteries also.
Oh my gosh. I think I may be stocked up on batteries at this point. I did the Duracell deal yesterday, paying $1.84 after coupons, Cats, and SavingStar.
What/ where is the Duracell deal?
Four packs of Duracells are $1.99 this week at Kroger, minus .50 coupons (I only had eight), minus $2 Cats that printed on each purchase of two, plus the SavingStar $10 rebate on a $30 PG purchase. With sixteen .50/1 coupons ($8), eight Cats ($16), and the $10 SavingStar, it would have been a moneymaker on the purchase of sixteen packs of batteries.
