Elaine, I did look again at my invoice and it does state NEW condition. Not used or like new. I did see an option on that original page that offered used or like new options for a cheaper price.

Our 4 cats love these trees. It took a little bit for them to get used to them but having several helps keep the fur from flying. Ordered this one for when one of the others finally gives up.
