But check out the ingredients list–all real recognizable food. U.S. food labels list “sugars” Including all forms, but don’t separate out added sugars. Any product containing fruit (such as this one, with dates as the first ingredient) or milk will inherently contain “sugars” in the biochemical sense but not necessarily “sugar” in the non-nutritive sweetener sense. Depending on a person’s goals this can be important. As an example, I choose to avoid sugar nearly all of the time and eat fruit only sparingly, but if I wanted an indulgence I could choose one of these with zero regrets because they are made from real, whole foods. Beats a candy bar or protein bar hands down any day in my book, despite the simplistic way the nutrition label portrays it.
I agree Jav. There is a huge difference between added sugarand sugar found in whole fruits, which naturally also comes with fiber. I try to avoid any processed foods, but if I do go for some, I would choose something like this bar. And I don’t touch anything by Kellogg’s now.

How does Larabar in general taste? I see mixed reviews. Does it taste like fig newtons?
no, it’s more like the middle of the fig newton. it’s a dense, fig based bar. I LOVE them, but can see how it’s an acquired taste. their ingredient list is SMALL and it’s all healthy ingredients.
