Has anyone really purchased this? I was reading reviews and almost all of them provided an honest review for the free or discounted product they received. I would really like to know how these work with real reviews. Thanks!

    • Sam

Same here. I don’t trust the reviews on amazon.

      • Lee

I got one and had to send it back. It was telling me that my son was 74 degrees, my husband was well over 100, and I was about 80. It was all over the place.

        • Meea

          Thank you!

I frequently review things on Amazon that I have gotten free. And I do review then honestly. I’d say 75% of the time I provide 4 or 5 stars and 25% of the time I provide 3, 2 or 1 star. I just reviewed mascara yesterday and gave it 1 star. Anyway, I have no experience with this thermometer but I just wanted to say that some of us really do provide honest feedback for our free products.

I do so as well and take my time trying it without being paid for any of it but just because either I need the product or would like to try it. Don’t see why anyone wouldn’t trust my review, it almost makes me feel like I am wasting my time from sharing my experience.

How do I sign up to review products on Amazon?

    • Claudia

I sometimes receive products in exchange of my honest reviews. Through amazon I have done over 100 reviews and sometimes you do have to pay some for the product. Normally when a review is detailed and a bit longer, the person takes the time to actually use the product.

I am a normal person and honest at any product review I do. I buy a lot of other things that aren’t free to me and still review them. Don’t guide yourself by a lot of exchanges for reviews. Without people like us that review the products, the customers wouldn’t know what to expect. Also, I have given a product a 1 star review because that’s what it deserve.

Amazon has a good return policy that you could also take advantage from in any case the product don’t work.

I just ordered one. My children’s pediatrician just used this last week on my daughter, so I had never even seen a thermometer like this. I was blown away by how fast, accurate, and easy the nurse took her temperature! I of course thought well I’m sure the thermometer is pricy, but when I saw it here today I am picking up one for myself to have at home!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Cool! Thanks for your feedback Carrie!

This is the same thermometer we use at our clinic. Some of our patients request the traditional thermometer because they feel like there’s no way this thermometer can be accurate, and both readings end up about the same. Directions need to be followed to get an accurate reading, you’re supposed to point it to the forehead without touching the skin. Hope this helps someone 🙂

Working in a hospital, I have used all types on a daily basis. We have typically oral and the temporal ( not the infrared). I’m guessing this is very similar to the temporal thermometers that read the temperature of your skin. That can give you an estimate, but I have found over the years, that oral and rectal are still the most accurate way to go for temps.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for your helpful review Tracy!

I have this thermometer it’s ok kind of glitchy sometimes and you have to work with it and keep resetting it and we have to change the batteries a lot but ok I guess for the little amount that we actually use it.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for sharing your experience with this!

    • Meea

      Thanks!

I have owned a temporal scanner made by Exergen for about 7 years. Its pretty good, def recommend it if you’re looking for one in the market. As the other commenter started, I still use the good old fashion mercury one from time to time. That gives the most accurate temperature for sure.

      Cool! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, I just purchased one!! I was soo excited to see this I have been waiting to replace an ear thermometer I had purchased. The probe covers are a little pricy and I never once thought about ear wax when bought the ear thermometer ewwwwww! This looks much more sanitary and practical.
