Hi there! Three years or three months? Thank you!!
What do you mean?
Hi! You can get 3 months of OnStar Services, such as Roadside assistance and Navigation, Plus Three Years of the OnStar basic plan for eligible vehicles. Hope that helps!
I think they mean if you bought the car new from the dealership, you can get 3 YEARS, but if your car is a used or pre-owned vehicle, you can only get 3 MONTHS of free service. HTH!!!
Yes, thanks for the clarification Sharon!
In the fine print at the bottom of the page it says you can get 3 free years of basic service free.
I drive a Mercedes and would love free stuff
Where’s my comment
Is this for people new to onstar?
It is 3 years, I received notice from Onstar and was skeptical! I just pressed the blue button and got signed up a few months ago. So cool to get free stuff!
Sweet!
Yes it is 3 yrs of the very basic service (I use the remote start from my phone app most) free. If you give them a card they will give you 5 months free of all their services including navigation (not minutes for calling). I signed up a couple of weeks ago.
Does anyone know if they offer any deals if you want to upgrade the basic plan to the navigation plan for the 3 years? Can you pay like $5 a month to get that added on?
I got a Chevy Spark last year and they told me it came with 3 free months of Onstar but I didn’t want any of that . The finance lady at dealership said it’s great to get directions etc , but I’m just thinking that’s what phones are for . Does anyone have it ? If it’s free I’m thinking I may try it . Has anyone used it ? I was trying to see if my car is eligible thru the link but it’s not working from my phone . If anyone can share any perks about it if love to hear them . Going to do some research on this later . Funny when I first got my car it crossed my mind if they could be listening to me rock out in my car ππ. Ha ha . I stay away from those buttons π
You can start your car from the onstar app. It is great to start the car to let the heat or Ac run for a few minutes before you get into your car. The app also keeps track of your tire pressure, etc. it also has a find my car feature if your car is stolen.
It also will alert police and paramedics if you are in an accident and can’t make a call. We live in an area that has dead zones for cell service and onstar still has service there.
we had it..and it was great..now thinking of taking advantage of the 3 years FREE!!
I just bought a Cadillax SRX from a Cadillac dealership and it was a 2012 used – they set me up with the 3 month free – so are you saying I can in addition – get the 3 year basic as well??? I couldn’t find the link to see what vehicles???
If were eligible for the free 3 months then you should be eligible for the 3 years of free basic service also. Just press the blue OnStar button to set it up.
It’s nice for the peace of mind on long road trips. Even if you lose your phone, etc, you can still make calls with the OnStar phone or talk to a representative. Or if you lock your keys inside they can remotely unlock your doors for you. When I take all 4 kids on a long road trip, I like having it just in case.
Thanks for the review Amy!
Got 3 months of the premium package free & the Rep offered 2 more free months if I would put a credit card on file to continue the service when the 5 free months expire. Of course I can cancel before they charge the credit card if I decide not to keep the service. Also, the rep said if I elect to keep the premium package, call back about a month before the free trial ends and see if they will negotiate a lower price. A HUGE THANKS once again Collin & team for keeping us in the know about all of these wonderful money saving opportunities!!
