Just bought this after replacing one that was in an accident. We love it!

Glad to hear you like this one Jamie! Thanks for the feedback!

We have this car seat for our 16 month old and love it! We are expecting baby #2 now and plan on buying more. I would say that if you are making a registry (even if just for yourself), it winds up being cheaper at babies r us. It’s $300, use a 20% coupon to make it $240…then put it on your registry to get 5% back on a gift card for the first $300 spent and 10% back on anything in excess of $300 spent across your registry. You can save even more with the discounted gift cards Colin posts occasionally. And you can earn rewards… $5 for every $125 spent. Total savings would depend on how many of the above methods you use. But regardless, this is a great seat!

You can use an Amazon registry completion with this, & it’ll only be $195 with the 15% discount. Drawback for BRU for me is that I live somewhere with a 10% sales tax. It’s so hard to feel like I’m getting a good deal comparing it with Amazon where they don’t charge us tax (yet).

Can anyone give me details on this vs the chicco nextfit? Im going between the two!

    • Alison

Just based on research I have done the car seat lasts longer compared to the nextfit since this one converts to a booster seat (up to 100 lbs). I think the nextfit is only good up to 65 lbs, plus I have read that the nextfit is kind of on the small side and some kids grow (length-wise) out of the seat before they hit the 65 lbs. My husband is 6’3″ and I’m 5’8″ so I’m pretty sure my little guy is going to get tall (he already is growing faster lengthwise than wide-wise)!

I have the Chicco and I hate it. It’s hard to get the kids in and out and even unbucking is a struggle. Love my Brittax marathon which is not a 4 in 1… I got two of these to try out.

      • Stephanie

What makes it hard to get the kids out? The higher sides? Are they comfortable in it? The Graco just seemed more complicated for the latch system…

        • lz

It has very high sides so they can’t help themselves in. The quick latch is great and all…. but I rarely take it out…where as I take the kids in and out all the time but feel like I’m throwing them in a bucket. Also the release button for the belt is hard to press.. for me anyway and my thumbnails that get in the way

          • lz

It all sounds very ridiculous now that I’ve typed it… but we have 5 kids so every motion counts lolololol

            • Stephanie

I was worried about the sides because they look high and awkward so I really appreciate your input! Thank you!!!!

Any idea how long this deal will last? I just shipped an Amazon Trade-In and am waiting on my giftcard.

I’m looking to buy a convertible car seat too and have been looking at graco.. I was wondering is it practical to have the same one for 10 years? Won’t they get damaged and or messy? Is there better option?

    • Stephanie

My son had the Graco Nautilus which goes from 5 point harness to booster and honestly it got filthy and stained–even with my ocd cleaning it. Its now in my husbands truck as our backup and I got a different highback booster. In theory it sounds great not needing another seat but for MY reality it would never last that long.

im one year 3 of my convertible carseat (diono brand, it has one of the biggest weight limits and you can put 3 across a bench seat) i wish i started out using it instead of a baby carrier one, for me it is more practical to do convertible if its a sturdy brand (we wash our cover 1 a month, and bought a piddle pad for my daughter sit on incase of accidents or spills ( its waterproof and easy to wash) ours has held up very well

      • Basketball32

        We love diono … We have 2-R120’s, 3-graco MySize70’s, 1 diono Pacifica

Hands down favorite is the R-120. It’s weight and height limits, slim profile are all ah-may-sing.

The gracos are awesome seats, but ditto high sides and bulk … We go 3 across and we can’t do that with the gracos.

I am on my fourth year of an evenflo all-in-one (used it since my daughter’s birth) and it doesn’t seem yucky at all to me. She eats and drinks in the car, but really it is mostly just crumbs that vacuum up so not a big deal.

    • Brandi

The better option imo is a Graco Extend2fit $199 but can find it cheaper and buy a $20 booster down the road. The Extend2fit will rf to 50pounds.

  6. Mary

Thanks for all the input ladies! Anyone know if Safety 1st
Grow and Go 3-in-1 Car Seat is good? It is just $153 (Amazon) and is good from birth to 100 lbs. TIA!

    • Jamie P.

I just bought one on Sears. Had them price match walmart at $136 and was still able to use surprise points and other points I’d accumulated to help pay plus I got 12% cash back from shop at home for taking a survey with them and Sears gave me $11 in points back for making the purchase – anyway, all said and done, I only ended up paying around $60 for an originally $169.99 car seat! Seems like a good deal to me.
