Is there a latch on it?

    • Angela

      No this is seatbelt only.

      • Brittani

Thank you. Think I’ll pass on this one.

      • Laura

So the seat doesn’t actually fasten into the car itself at all?? My oldest is 6 1/2 and we’re about to start looking for a “big kid” seat for him. This would be about what we’re looking for, and the price is right, but that doesn’t sound safe enough!

        • ashley

As far as I’ve read in my booster manuals youre not supposed to latch a booster in if used with just a seat belt. It’s actually unsafe. Check your manuals though.

          • Kristin

Agree! You’re not supposed to latch booster seats to the car like infant/toddler seats!

            • mari

my booster is just a booster and it is suppose to latch. some boosters latch some dont. i prefered a latching one
because if your in a accident without anyone using the booster it becomes a fly projectile…..

          • Brittani

Well then why would they make them with a latch? My son is 6 almost 7 and I have the Graco affix latch booster seat and we use a seatbelt. The latch helps it not slide around or fallout when they get out of the car.

        • buckeyemom

The concept of the booster seat is to essentially “boost” your child up so your vehicle’s seat belt can fit them properly over their shoulder, chest & lap. As long as they meet the height, age & weight requirements to come out of a 5-point harness & go into the booster seat, these are perfectly safe & would be the next step to transitioning. Hope that helps 🙂

          • Heather C.

            Perfectly said!

        • nydia

You should do your own research according to your child’s height and weight, but if I remember correctly the latch system is only to be used until your child is 40 or 45 pounds and/or 5 years of age. After that they need to use a seat belt.

          • vmm

That all actually depends on the seat and the manufacturer. some seats are allowed to be/made to be latched in with the lower anchors while in use as a booster seat.

    • Alaina

Some boosters are starting to sell with the latch system. The point of the latch system in a booster is not the safety of the child who rides in it. The latch system is if the child is not with you and you don’t have the booster seat buckled in if you are in a accident the booster seat can become a projectile object harming others in the car if it hits them. That’s why they recommend all loose objects book, etc to be kept in the trucks of the car. Also that’s why in cars you don’t put anything in the back window because even a minor accident can have serious consequences when the objects in the back window become projectile objects and hit people in the head causing serious trauma. So as long as you buckle the seat when the child is not in it, this booster seat is just as safe as one with the latch system.

  2. Andrea

We have this seat and my son loves it!! This is the one he chooses to use for longer car trips. We’ve had it since he was 4 and he’s now 7.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh good! Glad to hear how much he likes it Andrea! Thanks for sharing!

  3. Nichole

    Nice! Thanks

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  4. vivianne

We have this and my only complaint is that the cup holder is just a strap so it doesn’t effectively hold anything other than a cup.

    • shea

Your complaining about a cup holder that holds a cup….

      • Laura

I kinds agree with her. My kids like to put toys and things in their cupholders. Also for holding crayons within their reach so they can color on a long trip…

        • Kimberly

Couldn’t you put an empty cup in it to hold these things?

      • Marie

I think she’s just mentioning one of the cons. We have a booster that has cup holders like this and I hate it. Every time we make a somewhat sharp turn, my son’s drink spills. He’s too old for a sippy cup, so I mean cups from fast food places with lids and straws. Real cup holders would definitely be something I’m looking for when buying another booster. For now, I have to say ” hold your drink!” Every time lol

  5. Kathy

This booster seat was a top performer for safety at Consumer Reports when I bought two for my kids a few years back. They are eight and still using them with the back, but it is almost time to remove the back for us. Booster seats, I thought, are used only to ensure seat belt position is correct, not across the neck for example. The kids like them.

  6. Heather C.

Excellent deal! If i needed one, I’d be all over this one!

  7. Sara

A booster with latch is needed for when seat is unoccupied. It doesn’t help anything with child in vehicle. That’s the seat belts job. It prevents it from being a projectile if you are in an accident and your child isn’t in the seat.

    • nydia

You can also just fasten the seat belt over it to keep it in place when not occupied.

      • Sara

Yes, that’s an option also. I just wanted to clarify for those thinking the latch on a booster was extra safety for when the child is occupying the seat.

  8. Carrie E Forsyth

I was literally JUST looking at boosters this morning because my almost 7-year-old is dying to get out of her car seat. Thank you so much for yet again your awesome timing on posting this deal! I ordered two of these to try out based on all the great reviews and safety ratings I found. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re very welcoem Carrie! Glad you could snag them! 😉

  9. Haseena

Anyone know if Target will price match over the phone order? tia

    • Andrea

They should. The only thing is u will pay targets price and then they will issue a refund for the difference.

    • Haseena

To answer my own question, Yes Target will price match over the phone. I don’t have amazon prime and didn’t want to deal with Walmart store pick up so I called Target and was able to price match and got it shipped for Free using my red card. Thank you!

  10. Debra

Thank you for the heads up on the deal. I ordered two.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re most welcome Debra!

  11. Lils

My child will be turning 3 & approx 45 lbs, is this safe for her?

  12. Briana

We love this seat. Our son used to complain all the time with the Graco Turbo highback booster, but this one he loves. It feels more substantial than the Graco too, and the back stays on much better. Great deal! Thanks, we just bought a spare

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Happy this one has been more comfortable for him Briana! Awesome that you could snag another! You’re most welcome!

  13. Erinjr

Thank you! My husband and I were just saying how nice it would be to have another as a back up and with these ratings and price, I couldn’t pass it up 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Good! You’re welcome!
