What exactly are these? Are they a game or are they mini lego sets?
Both. You have to buy the starter pack then you build these and use them on the video game. My 8 year old loves them, and it is really fun.

They are a game and legs sets. You collect different worlds and characters to play in a game.

PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U according to a very quick Google search that led to the Lego website. This is an accessory to the game. You can’t play the game with just these. However, these are also mini lego sets that my kids happen to love to play with by themselves. They also have a very large variety at a lot of dollar stores
