Discovering Interesting Foods While Traveling Abroad (Cheetos Ketchup Flavored, Anyone?)

I was just reading your Happy Friday post about submitting fun pictures that make you smile. My family and I just returned from a 15 day trip to the United Kingdom. While we were there, we saw some weird foods, and I took some pictures that I would like to share with you!
- Heinz [Seriously] Good Times Mayonnaise: “Well I’ll take two, then!” 😂
- Pringles Xmas Dinner Prosecco & Pink Peppercorn Chips: “Sounds like I don’t have to cook up Christmas dinner.” 😉
- Pringles Prawn Cocktail Flavor Chips: “Not sure about these!” 🤔
- Fresh Pork Scratchings: “And I can’t even imagine what these could have been.” 😳
- Cheetos Ketchup Flavored: “I’m sorry but those don’t even look like Cheetos.” 😬
- Walkers Brussels Sprout: “Know anyone who is craving these?”

The Brussel Sprouts actually sound the best…lol
The scratchings are just pork cracklings/chicharrones. The Brussels sprouts and Pringles sound interesting.
If you ever go to Japan, try the green tea Kit Kats. They are better than regular Kit Kats!
They have the green tea Kit Kats at the Japan pavilion in Epcot. I was wondering how they’d taste. I tried green tea ice cream in Tokyo and it was a bit of an acquired taste. I’ll get the Kit Kat next time though!
They are good! Most Asian markets have them.
Japan actually has a ton of kit Kat flavors. The green tea isn’t my favorite, but they have a strawberry cheesecake that is soooo Osgood.
What is it about Japan and there love for Ki-Kats
I fell in love with the Fanta soda in France. It sort of tastes like a light version of a cross between orange soda and Mountain Dew. It tastes nothing like the orange Fanta in the U.S. I’m not even a big soda drinker, but I’d buy the Fanta they have in Europe.
Yes,Fanta is my favorite when in Europe ,and i am not soda drinker either ,but it tastes so refreshing !!
How about the corn ice cream in China? Shaped like an ear of corn too.

There may be some Hip2savers from the UK who find these items commonplace.
Love the vimto in the UK! It’s a blackberry type soda, but also a syrup that you can mix into water..yum!
My favorite Walkers are Worcestershire or Marmite! I’d love to try the Brussels sprouts flavor.

In Spain we had ham flavored Lays chips.
In Germany the supermarkets have a whole aisle dedicated to different kinds of ketchup.
In Greece we had ginger ale in different falvors. One was mint
My family and I subscribe to snackcrate which sends a box with snacks from different countries each month. We are so excited to see what crate we will get next and try some different treats. It comes with a card and stickers which tell you about the country and all the goodies. Plus it is presented so nicely. It is super fun! This month was actually England.

I’m British living here and I miss many things from home. Sprouts are a large part of traditional Christmas dinner. A supermarket even has Sprout tea this year! Also pigs in blankets tea (small pork sausages wrapped in bacon). Every Christmas crisps of various Christmas dinner variants are sold.
I am currently in Morocco. There are tagine Pringles. Strawberry cheesecake, brownie bite, and chocolate chip Kit Kat’s among other interesting local creations.
My favorite thing to do when we travel abroad is to go into supermarkets (we’re not real museum people haha!) You see so many interesting products.
Many foreign countries do not refrigerate their eggs. It’s because they don’t wash them like they do here in the US. The washing removes the protective coating on the eggs.

I agree about checking out your local ethnic stores for unique snacks. Also, our Kroger carries many British snacks and tea. But I’ve never seen these Pringles there though.
I’m Filipino and grew up eating shrimp chips. They don’t taste like shrimp but to me they are delicious! I imagine they taste like Prawn chips. The chocolate candies there were also different, a lot less sweet and many were orange flavored. We also had mango-flavored ice cream and purple yam ice cream. Both also taste great… to me! Don’t think my kids would like the yam ice cream.
I wish local supermarkets would carry Walkers’s cheddar n cheese, to die for delicious. It’s better than most potato chip flavors here.
I grew up with paprika chips in Germany. I love them and always bring a few bags back with me. Have never seen them over here.
