Our Aldi is not that cheap

    • Stella

Sadly, Northern Virginia is not that cheap on some things either. That being said ALDI is normally lower prices than competitors in area.

    • MrsK

Yes, our prices in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area are not that low either.

  2. Daphne

Don’t forget the eggs and the “thin mints,” both usually less than a $1!

    • JenB

I bought the “thin mints” last week and they were ~$1.79 in Delaware.

      • Daphne

Ick! I bought a pack, last week, for $0.85 in NC.

  3. Cheryl

Our Aldi’s in Florida has much higher prices. What part of the country are these prices based on? It seems as though the prices are not the same across the board with Aldi’s.

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Cheryl! Prices can definitely vary by region. These ALDI finds were spotted by our Deal Tester in North Carolina. Hope that helps!

  4. Alishia

Luckily our Aldi here in Columbia is this cheap as well! I love it! 😀

  5. shoop

Ohio Aldi prices are also low. It’s my favorite grocery store!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yay! That’s great to hear! I love Aldi too!

  6. Ginger

Aldi in Ohio is this price or less. It’s been awhile since I bought a few of these items. I like to stock up on the canned mushrooms. They are .59 a can here, I add them to spaghetti. Anyone that complains of food prices should consider eatting spaghetti, with added mushrooms and garlic bread once a week we save a ton this way. It is such a cheap meal it is very tasty and it feeds a family of 6. Sometimes we add chicken, or meatballs and it is still super affordable.

  7. DebY

New Aldi being built by our Walmart. Cant wait for it to open!

    • Jen s.

You will most likely get the lowest prices as they try to compete with walmart!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Yay! How exciting!

  8. Kitty

The peanut butter is really good!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for the review, Kitty! I haven’t tried it yet!

  9. Carlene

That Hazelnut spread tastes just like Nutella at half the price!

  10. Kelli

Our ALDI in southeast Iowa has prices this low as well! We love shopping at Aldi and regularly buy many things on this list!

  11. Saver

Also near Chicago, IL has these low prices as well. I love buying their salad kits which are usually around $2

  12. ST

I’ve found that fresh produce and dairy prices (eggs, milk from cows) vary from week to week in my area, depending on what is in season, etc. Things like cantaloupe can vary from $0.99 to $2.50 and above. But the boxed/canned/non-perishables, and even frozen or packaged cheeses/meats are usually the same price every week.

  13. suzanne skero

Great list! Was it me or are their bananas tasteless? They are an off brand and I am hesitant to try them again since they didn’t have much flavor. Has anyone had the same experience?

    • q

      Our bananas are Chiquita brand.

    • Kay O

In Kentucky I buy their bananas every week and my household loves them. Maybe it was a bad batch?

  14. Amy

I am very loyal to Wegman’s and their brands. I’m afraid to try Aldi’s brand since I don’t care for Walmart’s brand. Do you all just shop there because it’s a little cheaper? Or do you actually think theirs is comparable to name brands? How much do you think you save by switching to Aldi’s?

    • Amy

I shop at Aldi bc of their prices but I don’t compromise on flavor. That being said, their shredded cheddar cheese and cream cheese are a staple that I purchase every week. You absolutely cannot beat their prices and they taste just as good as name brand. My children and husband love the cereals. I have begun stocking up on paper towels and toilet paper as well. I really can’t say enough great things about Aldi!

    • mckeeversmom

They offer a double-back guarantee so you really have nothing to lose by trying their products. If you don’t like what you buy, bring it back…they’ll refund your money and give you another product (same item) but if you don’t like it, just donate it to a food bank. In all honesty, I’ve never had an Aldi product I didn’t like!

    • Ashley

I don’t care for many of Walmart’s generics or other grocery off brands, but I actually prefer Aldi’s over many name brands.

    • amanda

I don’t care for Walmart’s store-brand items but do a lot of shopping at Aldi. Some items are hit or miss but their snack foods, nuts, cheeses, and dairy products seem spot on. I buy most of our pantry staples, produce, and frozen veggies there. We have not been impressed with their meat, some of the breads, and some of the frozen meal items such as frozen pizza, lo mein, etc.

  15. Rosanne

I disagree on the plastic wrap. I have had nothing but problems trying to use it. Yes, I know that’s the whole point of plastic wrap. 🤪

  16. Cakes

I didn’t care for their Savoritz crackers or salsa. I buy their hazelnut spread & jelly regularly. I like their individual salads because they are convenient to grab to take to work & even my teenaged son will eat them.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Oh cool! Thanks for the honest comment! Good to know which items you have liked best!

  17. Stormy

Aldi is a must stop for me every week! I just cannot buy their bread…for me, it’s too dense, but my kids like the blueberry bagels so go figure (and their bakery donuts and cakes 🤣). I always shop their first for produce – much lower prices on most items. Every week (if needed), I’ll buy their eggs, almond milk, milk, cream cheese (for baking, and whipped for toast/etc). What else? I get all of our nuts from there (shelled pistachios, natural almonds, cashews, walnuts). Just buy baking items like sugars, oils and nuts if need be, but give it a shot. The boxed brownies that are $.89 are always getting compliments at any event where I bring those. ❤️ Aldi for real!!

The Aldi I go to in Pennsylvania is in the same parking lot as Walmart and the prices aren’t near this low. Also, milk prices in PA are regulated by state government as far as how low a price it can be sold. We can’t even get a half gallon of milk that cheap.

  19. BC

I have noticed that the 3 Aldi’s “around” me vary greatly in prices. And these Aldi’s are only about 15 minutes away from each other. I live in the western Suburbs of Chicago. Ironically, some of the Aldi’s in Chicago proper is actually cheaper. I suspect Aldi’s will price their products as much as the market will bear. I try to plan my trips and purchases based on which Aldi’s I will be around. The nearest one to me, actually has milk (2.69) and eggs (1.71) prices that are regularly more expensive than Jewel (Albertson’s); the Aldi’s about 12 min drive from me has milk at 1.02 and eggs at .79 (these are not specials or markdown price; it’s their “regular” price)
