What is this lawsuit about?
This lawsuit claims that Gap Outlet, Gap Factory Store or Banana Republic Factory Store engaged in deceptive advertising by advertising false reference prices on merchandise in-store and online. Gap denies these claims but has agreed to settle.
Does anyone know the email address the notification would have come from?

Back to 2010? Who keeps those receipts?
Hi Tori! No proof of purchase is required for purchases less than $90. Hoping that might help!
I don’t have those either—but I hope my online receipts will work.
I filled out for me and my mom. We have purchased many times at Gap outlet! $12 isn’t bad.
Oh good!
I clicked the link and it says that the site is blocked.
Hmm, I was able to click through fine. Maybe try again in a different browser. Hoping that helps!
It is an “unknown” site so it’s protected. You can accept the risk & go forward
Silly question – one claim per person? Or per receipt over $90?
Hi there! It looks like you may be able to grab more than one and it will depend on the amount of purchases made.
” The number and amount of Settlement Purchase Certificate(s) available to each Class
Member depends on the total of the Class Member’s Qualifying Purchases made between May 24, 2010
and May 10, 2019.”
Hope that helps!
I received two checks in the mail from Gap for $3.93, and I couldn’t figure out why. This must be why.
Thanks for letting us know! Didn’t get the email so I submitted a request form.
You’re welcome, Irene!
What if I don’t have the receipt but I have the line item on my credit card statement?!
It looks like that may work. When you submit an online form you will need to know the month, year, location and amount. Then you can upload your receipt or proof of purchase.
Hope this helps!
I guess some attorneys got rich on that one.
Does anyone know if I can file more than one claim? I have 6 different receipts during that time period each under $90 or am I suppose to add those receipts together?
Hi there! It does look like you can enter more than one purchase through the online claim. Hope this helps!
I’ve spent zillions it seems at gap but of course I don’t have those receipts! 😭
Does this settlement mean they falsely increased prices to make a sale seem extra good? That’s what I understood. Which I’m pretty sure every major store does. Especially for Black Friday.
Can you please clarify whether this lawsuit pertains to the regular Gap stores or ONLY the Factory Outlets? It seems pretty clear from the lawsuit wording that it is just the factory outlet, but this article and the comments suggest otherwise.
Thanks for asking, Kariana. It appears to be for the GAP Outlet, GAP Factory store Or Banana Republic Factory store. Hope that helps!
What if rewards were used in the purchase?
