Lotus Biscoff Cookie Butter Ice Cream is Coming to a Store Near You
Cookie butter lovers, rejoice!
Lotus Bakeries, the makers of Lotus Biscoff cookies, is releasing a new line of “super-premium ice cream” products. Made with dairy cream, crunchy Biscoff cookies, and their original cookie butter, these products are already beginning to appear in select stores across the U.S.
For the uninitiated, Lotus Biscoff cookie butter is like a spreadable cookie in a jar, with both creamy and crunchy varieties. The crunch comes from actual bits of cookie!
It can be used as a dip, spread, or sandwich filler, or it can be spooned directly into your mouth (it is so addictive!). Mixing ribbons of cookie butter into premium ice cream sounds like a pretty good idea to us!
“Biscoff is exploding in the U.S. and we can’t be more excited to bring the beloved Biscoff taste to ice cream,” said Michelle Singer, Lotus Bakeries U.S. General Manager.
The ice cream will be sold in five flavors: Original, Belgian Chocolate Chip, Blueberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Brownie, and Salted Caramel. It will also come in an indulgent bar form. According to the company, this “heaven on a stick” frozen treat will feature “the original cookie butter ice cream dipped in a layer of delicious cookie butter and then enrobed in a creamy layer of Belgian chocolate.”
While the bars won’t be available in the U.S. until October 2019, the pints began rolling out in July and have been spotted at Safeway and Albertsons stores in Northern California, Oregon, Idaho, and Arizona. Trader Joe’s also has a store brand of their “speculoos” butter ice cream… and it’s reasonably priced and delicious! I want to try the Lotus blueberry cheesecake one though… sounds fabulous!
