Through September 9th, Build-A-Bear is celebrating National Teddy Bear Day!
For the first time ever, you can pick up a pre-stuffed 2019 exclusive National Teddy Bear Day bear for just $6.50 at Walmart stores across the country.
Note there is a limit of 6 bears per guest.
OR, head to your local Build-A-Bear where you can also score the National Teddy Bear Day Bear unstuffed for just $6.50 – in-store only.
Keep in mind that you are welcome to purchase a 2019 National Teddy Bear Day Bear unstuffed at the store and then return at a later date to enjoy the in-store experience by adding stuffing, accessories, sounds and clothes! Awesome!
If you’re heading to a Build-A-Bear Workshop, you may have the chance to meet the life-size Bearemy Bear and take a pic! For all pics that are uploaded to social media and tagged with #nationalteddybearday, Build-A-Bear will donate a bear to a child in need – up to 50,000 bears! Before I ask family to check on this deal for me (we live in japan), are these selling out fast?
Buy and return is not a good suggestion. This is a great in store experience, but defeats the purpose. Retail stores are already struggling to compete against online. I’d hate to see kids lose the Build a Bear experience from suggestions like this.
Hey Sunny! We aren’t suggesting that you return the bear, but if your store is super busy today you can buy it unstuffed and then come back at a later date when it’s not so busy. This lets your kiddo have more time to enjoy the experience of stuffing the bear and bringing them to life!

We did the buy and return and it worked out great! We were able to buy when it fit our budget, then when we had one for each of the kids, we went back and had them all stuffed at the same time. It was a great time!

They meant you return to the store. Not return IT to the store. Lol
We just went today to do this and they had plenty of bears, it wasnt busy at all. They also have a whole rack with clothes for 75% off, most outfits were around $5. My kids had a great time and we got a bear with an outfit for less than a regular price bear.
