There are plenty of books priced under $1 if you search carefully under a specific category (I looked in children’s nonfiction and a favorite author–Stephen Cosgrove). I just got a couple books for my 2nd grade classroom! Elementary teachers LOVE free books!!! =D

You can get online powells credit or paypal credit for a little less!! I sold over 50 books to them last year and bought lots of books for Christmas gifts!!

Can someone please help me. I have put in low to high. Mickey Mouse, Dora, Winnie the Pooh and childrens books and many others and everything starts at $3.50 and up. Can someone please help. I have looked for over 1/2 hour for books under $1.00 and cannot find any. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is another wonderful thing about Powell’s; you can sell books to them for either store credit or payment via PayPal! Click on the button that says ‘sell my books’ and enter the ISBN’s of the books you would like to sell to them. (an ISBN can be found on the back of the book–it will either start with a ‘0’ and have nine numbers after it (for a total of ten numbers), or ‘978’ and have ten numbers after it (for a total of 13 numbers). If Powell’s wants to buy it, they will tell you how much they are willing to pay for it. The best part is that they pay for shipping!!! At the end of your transaction, you can click on ‘print a shipping label’ and print out a pre-paid media mail label that you can put on the box of books that you are selling to them. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks to get payment after shipping, but this is a great way to make some extra money from all those books that we all have hanging around the house. Dont’ be discouraged they don’t buy your books the first time you try; I usually try again a few weeks later and am always delighted at what they are willing to buy then. Keep working your lists of ISBN’s and you can get some nice PayPal credit payments or Powell’s store credit for books. If you are a ‘book person’ , then subscribe to their newsletter, too. This bookstore ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet they’ve caught on and raised the prices of the $1 books to $3.50. I’ve been searching for over an hour and haven’t found a single book for $1. Looks like I missed the boat on this one.

I dont know if it was a glitch or not, but I kept changing my mind which books, after I had put in the promo code, and at the end I had a $15 misc credit, so I got 4 books for free, because I live near and can pick up myself. Um, DVD’s ship free so………search for DVD and sort by price. Tons of oldies come up for under 5.00. You don’t have to get to 5.00 to use the code and still get it free. Hit up the spouse, and parents too! I’m sure you can have your friends order something for you too! 🙂
