Is just the fire 7 pro the buy two for $100?
We buy new ones every year for our kids. It is cheaper for us. We pay $50 each for them. If we did not buy new ones with the free year of Amazon kids we would dish out $36 each for Amazon kids subscriptions the following year. We sell the 1 year old ones online for $30 each after the new ones come. So we only pay $20 each but save the $36 each we would have paid for Amazon kids. Essentially getting them free and saving ourselves $16 each on top of that. Win win for us!
Those that have them, What are your thoughts on them? I’ve read reviews of them freezing and taking a long time to load. Would you still buy them again or would you have spent more on maybe a galaxy or iPad?
We bought these for our boys a few years ago like maybe 2 years ago. We didn’t like them for 2 reasons. One you have to pay $9.99 every month to keep them active. If you don’t use it that month you’ll still be billed unless you call and de-activate the monthly subscription. Like I said it it was 2 years ago so I am not sure if it’s still the same. We forgot to cancel the subscription and were billed for a month but I called and got a refund. The other reason is that some of the games really take long to load or just load and shut down automatically which was super annoying for my kids. So we bought them ipads and loaded with all the free games they like to play.
We’ve had them for years. The kids liked Freetime (or Amazon Kids, whatever it’s called these days). The 6 year old still uses hers often, but I will say my 9 and 10 year old hardly use theirs at all anymore and gravitate toward their Nintendo Switch or my iPad.
My kids only use theirs for earned screen time where they watch Netflix or PBS kids. Compared to the ipad, I hate them. I find it difficult to navigate and would never buy again.
Unfortunately these are not worth much more than downloading a few things for a road trip. They freeze quite often and come preloaded with so many things, the processor has very little space left and moves very slow. We inserted a memory card but you are limited to only certain things being saved to the card instead of the drive. We have owned 3 at this point and the newer models aren’t much better than the old ones. If your child is older than 5 or plans to use it frequently, invest in an iPad or android tablet.
Missed the deal, will it go on sale again? Before Christmas?
We’ll keep a lookout!
