Score 50% off Amtrak kids fares + infants ride FREE…

Children ages 2 – 12 are eligible to receive 50% off the price of an Amtrak adult fare. The discount is eligible for those who are 12 and under at the time of the ride (not at the time of purchase).

With the purchase of an adult fare, one infant (under the age of 2) may ride free of charge, provided they ride on the lap of the adult. Any additional infants per adult will be charged the discounted child fare. No promo code is needed for this deal.

An important detail was left out. According to the terms and conditions:

Travel over the the same route is limited to four one-way trips between two cities, and to all cities in between.

That means you need to plan your connections carefully. A departure and return to the same station count as two of the four allowed trips. If it isn’t feasible to do a subsequent roundtrip at stations that aren’t along a route shared with the departure station of the first roundtrip, you will only be able to make two roundtrips.

Thank you so much for pointing out that detail, Sara! I’ve added a note to the post.🥰
