Walmart is Recalling Better Homes and Gardens Aromatherapy Room Sprays Due to Contamination of Deadly Bacteria
Walmart has an important recall to share with your friends and family!
Walmart is recalling about 3,900 bottles of Better Homes and Gardens Essential Oil Infused Aromatherapy Room Spray w/ Gemstones due to the possible presence of a rare and dangerous bacteria that may cause a serious bacterial infection that could result in death.
The CDC has tested a version of the product after investigating a small cluster of 4 cases of melioidosis aka Whitmore’s Disease. Sadly, this dangerous infection has resulted in the death of two people including a child.
The CDC determined that this spray did in fact contain a bacteria called Burkholderia pseudomallei which causes melioidosis. This infection can infect both people and animals. Symptoms can vary depending on the type of melioidosis infection that is present but may include cough, chest pain, high fever, and headache.

What the heck????
Wtf
My exact words! 😳😞😣
Deadly bacteria? I don’t shop at Walmart anymore ( havent in 5 years ) but holy crap that’s scary. Are they going to go into detail about what happened and how it got contaminated??? Hope everyone who bought this is okay!
I read that a child died from the bacteria 😢
The explanation of what happened with this stuff on national news last night was frightening.
I am hoping this is a very isolated incident BUT the company that made this for Walmart makes things for MANY other companies. I always worry that recalls will expand! Use caution until this has been investigated further!
Is this just the spray or every better homes and gardens aromatherapy oils? I have the essential oils from better homes and gardens. Does anyone know?
I have some and they’re not the six they mentioned but I’m still taking them back. If they don’t reimburse me I’ll just spray it on my way out. Maybe I can make their store smell better or kill half the associates.
I am going to go buy some now.
