Perfect size. The lid goes over the top edge, holding the bag secure & avoiding any slippage/misses. The top pops up with almost no effort & locks back down with near-zero effort. The size is large enough to hold waste for a while but yet short enough to fit most bags & places larger cans can’t.
The Mainstays 7.6-gallon trash can is very nice. I have an office area that I am going to be using this in. It has a locking top so a simple press opens the top and then we just close it up. Seems durable and I think it will be pretty easy to rinse out or clean up as needed. It is shiny black so it will go just about anywhere.
I really like the style and design of this. The lid easily opens and closes. It is well made. Really made to last. The sizing is perfect. Great for most rooms in the house.

Checked these out this morning, white and black were the only ones available to ship for me. White would arrive Jan 6 and Black Jan 18. I ordered White, it was actually delivered to me this evening. The 4 lids were all dirty but nothing that couldn’t easily be wiped down. One lid the spring came out so I just had to use some force and pop it back in, the other two were just a little too flimsy so it doesn’t stay shut without actually using a little force to keep it closed. I bought one of these many years ago and I loved it so I didn’t hesitate to buy these now especially at this price point. Just a few things to keep in mind.
I am glad to hear that you received 4. Last year, there was a price mistake (we thought) on 4-pack napkins for $4.xx. I received 1 pack instead.
Yes I am getting the smear problem. Went to pick up my order and they are telling me it’s only one can.
Hefty makes both 8 and 10.5 gallon trash which would work. I found them at my local Walmart. Just FYI this is an “internet error” and the store will not honor this. I placed an order with pick up and they would only give me 1 and said that the 4 pack thing is an error. I even talked to a manager and then called Walmart.com.

Yep, same here. What’s worse is that I picked up curbside with the associate placing the item in my trunk and I didn’t notice the error until I got home. And I live 30 min from walmart, which means a return is kind of a hassle. I should realize by now, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I wish I had seen this comment before I bothered. The exact same thing happened to me – I did pickup for it so they placed it in my trunk and I saw there was just one when I got home.
I was able to place a pickup order for these and got them this morning. They did give me one, but I went back and showed them where the receipt said 4-pack. They honored it for me. Thank you for sharing because these are perfect for my needs.

They only brought me one trash can at walmart pickup. I showed them the item was a four pack. They checked and got me 3 more. Thanks!
Update. Manager said no so I returned the one trash can.

I also only received one wastebasket and the one I did get didn’t have a lid. I contacted Walmart and they just refunded me my money and told me just to keep the one I got. I was really hoping for the 4 pack with lids but at least I did get a refund without having to return the one can.
