My 7-year-old, 1st grader, can read but never wanted to read on his own or practice. These books changed all that.
He cracks up and can’t stop laughing as he reads the different characters’ banter. I’ve seen him go from monotone reading before to reading with different voices for the characters. Reading 60 minutes total in a week to 200 minutes easily. He reads these over and over. And can’t get enough of them.
I cannot say enough good things about this super sweet series. My 7-year-old just got started on them, but realistically, I think she would have been able to read them two years ago. The reading level is very approachable and the writing is cute and enjoyable. I absolutely love the illustrations, and there are a lot of sweet, thoughtful lessons here too.
The third book mentions food allergies which is a juice plus for us. My kids were really excited to see their life experiences consisted and incorporated so casually and seamlessly. Highly recommended. She keeps reading them over and over again.

These books (graphic novel/comic book like) are very cute. My daughter has always been a reader. She was reading these in first grade with a little help.
