Denny’s Shutdown Update: Nearly 180 Locations Expected to Close!
Just weeks after announcing a $620 million buyout of the company, Denny’s is now confirming plans to close more locations.
In late 2024, Denny’s shut down 88 locations amid an announcement that 150 locations would close by the end of 2025. New reports show that number could be closer to 178, and while many of those underperforming locations have already closed, there are more that will shutter in the last weeks of this year.
Denny’s does not disclose which locations are closing, so you’ll need to keep an eye out for local announcements to see if your restaurant will stay open.
There is some evidence that closing underperforming locations have helped strengthen Denny’s overall, as other reports have stated Denny’s will open some new restaurants, too.
