The Recent DermaRite Soap Recall Has Been Expanded (Here’s What to Look For)
Here’s what you need to know about the DermaRite Recall:
In July, DermaRite Industries voluntarily recalled select hand soaps due to potential bacterial contamination. In August, that recall was expanded to 32 more products, including hand sanitizer, deodorant, skincare products, and more. 😱
The recall was issued out of an abundance of caution for the safety of immunocompromised individuals. While use of a contaminated product may cause only minor, localized infections in healthy people, the bacteria could enter the bloodstream of an immunocompromised person, potentially leading to life-threatening sepsis.
For questions about the recall, you can contact the company’s recall administrator:
- Phone: 888-943-5190 (Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST)
- Email: dermarite5186@sedgwick.com
A full list of the recalled products and product labeling is available on the DermaRite website. The affected products were distributed to hospitals, nursing facilities, and retailers, including Amazon, Target, and Walmart.
