Are you a DirectTV customer? If so, you may have experienced a blackout Sunday night when Disney suddenly pulled its networks from the service. This included channels like ESPN which caused many viewers to miss Sunday night’s game between Louisiana State University and the University of Southern California.

If you’ve ever watched a sports fan have their broadcast interrupted, you know it’s a BIG DEAL. 😬

Though the dispute between Disney and DirectTV is not yet settled, DirectTV wants to make things right with customers by offering them a $20 credit.

Here’s how to get the credit from DirectTV:

If you’re now missing channels like ESPN due to Disney pulling their networks, head on over to DirectTV’s website and enter your zip code and service to see if you qualify for a credit.

Those who qualify can scroll to the “Explore Bill Credits” section to select the appropriate service and then sign into their account to receive the $20. This may take up to two billing cycles to appear on your account.

Why did Disney pull their networks and how long will the blackout last?

According to CBS news, the dispute is over carriage fees that DirectTV pays Disney to broadcast their content. DirectTV would like to offer the Disney networks a la carte, but Disney feels this undervalues their worth and would like a bundled approach instead.

There is currently no estimated time for the blackout to be over, though DirectTV has indicated on their website they are hoping to come to a new agreement.

When I searched my zip code, I found that I was eligible for the credit. DirectTV’s website also provided me instructions on how to watch my local NFL team in the meantime. This included how to catch the upcoming games on FOX, CBS, NBC, and Amazon Prime Video.

If you’re concerned about missing any sports games, head to DirectTV’s website for information on your credit and possible instructions on where to stream your favorite team.
