Check Your Fridge! Organic Carrots Recalled for Possible E.Coli Outbreak
Have you heard about the recent organic carrot recall? Here’s what you need to know!
Warning! 🚨 Grimmway Farms issued a major recall for organic carrots sold in major grocery stores across the country. The carrots have been linked to an e.coli outbreak that has sickened close to 40 people across 18 states and killed one.
The carrots were recently sold under various brand names. They should no longer be in stores, but it is possible that they are in your fridge!
Use the below information to verify if your carrots are part of the recall. If so, do not eat them. Throw them away and disinfect any surfaces they may have touched.
Products that are included in the carrot recall…
The recalled carrots include both baby organic carrots and organic whole carrots. Major retailers like Trader Joe’s, Kroger, Albertson’s, Target, Publix, Whole Foods, Walmart sold them.
Baby Organic Carrots
These carrots were sold in various weights from 12 oz. up to 25lbs. They have best-if-used-by dates between 9/11/2024 and 11/12/2024.
Brands include: 365, Bunny Luv, Cal-Organic, Compliments, Full Circle, Good & Gather, GreenWise, Grimmway Farms, Marketside, Nature’s Promise, O-Organic, President’s Choice, Raley’s, Simple Truth, Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, Wholesome Pantry.

Whole Organic Carrots
These carrots were sold in quantities from 1 – 25 lbs. The package does not include a best-if-used-by-dates, but the carrots were sold in stores from approximately 8/14/2024 through 10/23/2024.
Brands include: 365, Bunny Luv, Cal-Organic, Compliments, Full Circle, Good & Gather, GreenWise, Marketside, Nature’s Promise, O-Organic, President’s Choice, Simple Truth, Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, Wholesome Pantry.

Watch for these symptoms of e.coli…
The CDC recommends to contact a doctor if you feel the following:
- Diarrhea for more than 3 days and a fever of 102 degrees or more
- Vomiting to the point you cannot keep liquids down
- Have signs of dehydration like dry mouth, dry throat, less urination, or feeling dizzy when standing up
Symptoms may come on 3-4 days after coming in contact with the bacteria. For many people, symptoms will clear within a week without treatment.

Scary! I had 3 bags that were affected! I’ve been cooking with one of them and thankfully we’ve been fine. But I’m tossing the others. Bummer but thankful!
